So whenever I try to download 1.9 or higher optifine, it says "This file my corrupt your computer. Continue anyways?"
I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else, and if it is safe or not.
I am using the real optifine.net/downloads

When you're downloading it, and it goes to the adf.ly page, exit out of the first one, click it again, and then in the top right, wait until it says "skip ad."
Click that, and then click "Download OptiFine blahblahblah."

The first time, it'll bring up another window, close that. The second time it will download it. When it's done, open it and it'll install automatically.

Assuming that's what you've already done, I'd just take the safe route and not install it.

When it brings me to the adf.ly page, it doesn't open a new tab, it just re-directs me.
When I click "Download OptiFine" It doesn't open up a new tab, it just starts downloading.

If you're computer is good enough, just don't download it. I don't have it and I still get 100 fps average

My comp isn't a gaming comp.
I get like 15-20 fps without it

Have you managed to get a better computer? Since that might be impossible,

Have you ever tried to delete some memories or CPU from task manager? Idk if it works, but you can try. Clear some unwanted stuff from computer.

Refresh and shut down. Delete unwanted stuff or even stuff you didn't notice from your computer. Try not to have so much tabs.

Edit: or switch to 1.8 because you can then have your 1.8 optifine. I have no ideas if those tips work, but a lot of time it works for me.

It honestly aways says that sometimes. There's no need to worry about it. It's said that before for me for an old computer and it never corrupted anything and such. (If I screw up your computer dispite what I just said.. just in case.. sorry)
