I've Never Seen Anyone Report Anything On This Subject Yet

There isn't much to report on.

 

I ate the soul of all my items. I'm a hollow of a person. (Anyone get the Bleach references ;w;)

Back when Gavel first came out I actually dropped my low-levelled items that I had outgrown so someone else could potentially use them.

Also I find it kinda sad how everyone just ignored the fact that you can have custom cool items and builds but everyone just went for as much spell damage as possible. I hope powders fix this somehow. So much for souls.

 

Salted has a good point, look at the treasure boots, level 8, shitty amounts of health, but level 80+ people like using it because of it's loot bonus

Same could be said for Concentration, a legendary level 8 ring that's very popular among people who use spells quite a lot.

 

Salted is right. I swear the loot bonus level 28, ordinary looking bracelet I keep has a soul. It certainly enslaved mine.

 

Truly, I have a hard time getting rid of old items. When I moved on up from my StabSand, it took me weeks to actually get rid of it. I had used it for so long that I felt an attachment, like the saying "This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine". You end up feeling connected with the items and weapons you use since they've been with you for so long, and you've relied on them to keep you safe and kicking. Maybe it's just me, but I feel a part of me is lost when getting rid of a weapon I've had for so long

 

That's actually true! I can feel that mistic powah that items have. This soul really exist! I usually talk to my weapons. Sometimes we talk about cheese.

 

Wait... Your guys weapons don't speak to you, telling you to destroy all in your path? :P

 

My weapon tells me to sacrifice children to Satan.

 

that isn't your wepon that is the voice which prevents you from the mistake of getting children. xD

 

Nah, my helmet already does that.

 

Get rid of it.

 

I sort of feel like I failed my job as an items maker when I see people all going for the same builds. I understand that it is...essentially impossible to make everything truly equal; some builds and items will inevitably be somewhat stronger than others, but I still feel as though there is a lack of variance in what is used, and it is disappointing to see.

 

I like to collect some items with cool stats or cool names even though I'll never use them. I keep a level 65 unique wand called Rotten Wood with only super low neutral dam and +413/3s Poison in my bank even though I can't and probably will never use it. I just like it. Same goes for the wands Sunsetter and Moonsetter, which I keep for the soul reason that their names match (and are both Homestuck songs. Yes, I am trash. Also the Rotten Wood has +413 Poison. More Homestuck trash).

I also love that there's a lot more challenge to making a build now. When Gavel came out I decided to start playing Archer instead of Mage, and I was aiming for a Walk Speed build for my Archer. I find it interesting how you have to balance your skill points and armor perfectly to pull off such a build, and make the sacrifices (like having very low health) to get what you're aiming for. Sure, I'll be a level 65 wearing level 25 boots! I'm faster than you'll ever be.

Lastly, I really like how with some builds you need to balance not only your skill points but all the stats on armor. I'm working on a Poison build and because a lot of Poison armor and accessories have negative health regen, I have to strategize and balance it out with more health regen armor.

Also I get attached to my weapons, armor, and accessories too. Even the ones I can't and won't ever use.

So yes, I totally see how the items have souls and how certain builds have personality. I love it.

 

There is still a pretty wide variety of builds though. It's definitely a lot more complex and varied than it was before, and I really like that.

 

Seems that I have been found out. That is exactly where I got the names of those wands from.
