1.10 Is Coming! What Do You Think They Will Add?

So yea, we will have the first 1.10 snapshot in 3 weeks!!! At the moment we know that we have Polar Bears and Ghostly Snowy Skeletons that live in cold regions.
But with that we don't have enough, so.... Try to guess what they will add next!

I hope they'll do a nether revamp.

Minecraft has steadily been going in the direction of essentially adding mods to the game. I'm thinking that this update will overhaul how we think about mobs in general.

We'll probably see mob spawning become a bit more like Wynncraft

Idk what they are going to add, but what I'd like to see is:
More generated structures, maybe little inns in plains, with a couple of villagers and horses outside in a pen, villages in more biomes with more variation (igloo villages anyone?), and that some villages will spawn with walls around them to protect them from mobs.
and more dungeons/temples, maybe more underground dungeons, but larger with multiple rooms and stuff, and more biome specific temples, like mesa temples, forest temples, maybe even ravine temples.
A way to rotate things with /clone, they promised this for 1.9 but completely forgot. :/
A sky island biome, which will occur above y256, and will change the biome, and sky islands will spawn at that height, which don't change maps you've made of the regular land.

 

I think that they are, so far, following a snowy theme. It seems that they are adding this stuff to old biomes though. The skeletons, for some reason, actually seem peaceful, as they don't actually hold their bow towards you. I'm guessing that they are a ranged version of pigmen.
The polar bears I'm guessing will be similar and will also be a source of food.
Because of this, I think that they are trying to make snowy biomes more challenging. So you have to start fighting for food and materials from what we've seen so far.
But for other things, I think they are going to add a new dungeon just to make snowy biomes more fun.

 

I honestly think they should add corn crops, that'd be fun. :/

 

Yea, I think that what do we have here are the first things of the coming "Mob Update". Also maybe they are trying to improve old mechanics, such as the nether. What really shocked me is that they did all of this so fast! Like, the 1.9 is only 1 month old!

 

There definitely seems to be a mob focus given that we've seen a new mob and a new mob type already. They also seem to be working on the nether a bit, judging by the fact that some of the first 1.10 pictures have been about the nether, featuring a new block type. Maybe the Nether will finally be useful for something other than blaze farms and quick transport. Currently the dimension is more about taking quick trips and then going back to the Overworld. I'd want the Nether to have enough content to feel like almost a second survival world, one that you'd set up a base in. But maybe that's shooting a bit too high.

To be fair, the screenshot was likely snapped in creative mode because it's hard to take a picture with a skeleton shooting you. As of 1.9, skeletons hold their bow down until they can see you. It's a bit too much of a jump to say that they're gonna be like pigmen.

 

I rarely use 1.9, so I did not know this.

 

But they just did something to boats! They actually work now in 1.9
