Old Player Looking To Come Back

As the title says I'm an old player looking to come back and try the game again.
I used to played back in May 2013 (Yes that's a long time ago) and I used to be the top player being the highest level on the whole server being level 47 before I stopped and I played the Assassin class. I knew what I was doing back then and the map was much smaller compared to what it is now.
I logged in today and now the server is using a texture pack which just adds more confusion in my opinion and I literally had now idea what was what anymore and noticed that my weapon and armor was Unidentified which I have no clue what means, I only know that I can't use it.

So basically I'm looking for some help and tips as how I should start up and what I need to know. I don't have any Emeralds at all so I can't buy any items as I'm pretty much naked at level 47 right now.

I have a couple of items I think might be considered rare items today (I don't actually know if they are), but I have 1 Diamond, 40 Actual Minecraft Emeralds and some Wool. (Like I said I don't know if they are considered rare)

Also, if things may seem a bit off, in September 7 2015, a huge glitch happened and every single thread got deleted, not our profile posts, just all the threads and comments.

 

Welcome back! A LOT has changed since you left, including an item revamp that involves having to identify all your gear. I would recommend checking out the changelogs of what happened on the Wynncraft Wiki. Maybe start over on a new class (Yes, there are class slots now, chances are you should have one open as a stained glass pane in your class selection), learn all the new stuff, and maybe get some items for your level 47? Grinding is a lot easier then it used to be, after all.

 

Before the Gavel Update, Salted recommended you start over, to avoid confusion. This is a good idea. To encourage it, you can have more than one of a class (classes --> character slots), and you are granted 5 for free (one more from the old four). As you play the game, you'll learn about new stuff, like accessories, elements, attack speed, and other things. If you need help on any specific thing, and it's not on the wiki, ask with a thread or something.

Wait a diamond? Haven't seen that before.

 

Im pretty sure a couple of the items you have might be considered glitched items. Bc you rejoined after god knows how long, I think your fine.

 

If you only need to identify your level 47 gear it shouldn't be too expensive (the level cap was increased three times since you left and is now 100).
I can lend you some emeralds to identify your gear and if you have any questions I will happily answer them.

there are item identifiers in most cities ( although you are probably in the update room right now)

 

At the item identifier, you can find them in cities.

 

Throw away the diamond as soon as possible, it is a glitched item, and if found in your inventory by staff, you will get perm banned.

 

it doesn't have to be glitched, if he didn't use glitches to get it he can keep it.

 

Never used any form of glitch to get it as far as I know. And I will probably keep it just for the sake of memories as it's as harmless as a pet rock.

 

I believe owning ANY vanilla item is illegal but don't quote me on this.

 

according to the current rules

the old rules permitted to own but not trade vanilla items that weren't obtained with a glitch.
I myself got a couple of vanilla items and even traded them with mods (and with salted)

 

Welcome back to Wynncraft then.

I strongly recommended you get a new class. The starting area has been revamped, and classes play differently than they used to, so try each one in the tutorial until you find the one you like.

The map has been expanded. A new area near Nesaak was added with a few quests and a small town, Lusuco, named after a staff member, Oculus. The new area also has a tower called "The Tower of Ascension" or ToA for short. It's basically a huge tower with 100 rooms, 90 have regular enemies, but 10 have bosses. The final boss it Death. There's a similar area in Gavel called "The Hive" where the final boss is called Qira.

A new province, Gavel, was added after around 2 years of development. It's landmass is about 1.3x bigger than Wynn. It has quests that go up to level 90, and planned level 90-100 quests.

The level cap also was raised. Not much to say on that.

Items now drop as unidentified. You need to take them to an item identifier in large cities like Detlas and Cinfrad. Right-Click them and put the items in the slots. Hit the green checkmark item and they will be identified. You'll need emeralds for that though.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it said that all vanilla items should be destroyed or handed into a staff member. I even went as far as sacrificing my one vanilla item to volcanoes in the ocean as a goodbye

 

@Tantibus what are the rules of owning vanilla items?

 

Please dispose of that diamond immediately. Glitched/vanilla items are not permitted.
