I screw over the proportions so much (and/or spacing), that I don't even attempt faces.
Curious how all of you talented folk about here work your magic...​

For the most part, realistic, anime, or a mix of the two is what I shoot for.
except for when it goes horribly, horribly wrong, is also what ends up being on the target.

Do you mean actual faces or head structure?

 

Actual faces. Got for the most part, everything else down.

 

Well what kind of face are you going for? Cartoonish, anime, or realistic?

I have no clue what to do for anime, but for the other two face structure works like this:

The midline you made is where the eyes go, you draw the eyes one eye-length apart from the middle of the face. The nose goes from the middle of the eyes to 3/4 down the face. The mouth goes one mouth/height below the nose. Eyebrows go one eye-height above the eyes, and hair can be p much whatever.
