Not really, they go from like 2-5 LE :P
Depends on whoever is selling it :3

 

In theory:
If you trade infinite many horses and breed them, you need exactly 2LE and 16EB per brown-to-black-trade on everage.

I've gotten a black before with just 48eb. Also if you're expecting horses on the trade market it would usually go for over 1le

How many breeds you need is random.
A quick look on the wiki page tells:
20% - better horse
50% - equal
30% - worse horse

So it depends on your 'luck' if you get the better in the first try.
By a very small chance it could take a thousand breeds - its random...

When breeding two brown horses, there is no worse.
Therefore the 50% and 30% are added to 80% equal chance.

 

If you can get 1le aka 64 EB. You can have my black horse.
