It needs a bit of a buff, or nerf tidebinder I guess

Don't forget the %-spell damage armor/accessories that can still boost Idol's power.

Plus Idol is superior over Tidebinder in 2 ways:

-no negative IDs
-level 95 is 100x easier to get to than level 99


Also, it seems that people are still forgetting about the fact that powders will probably boost/add elemental damage, which can make almost any weapon stronger than it was.

 

ye but comparing it to tidebinder as an end game , both have same slots and while it might be slightly better idk ;-;

 

Idol is normal attack speed

Tidebinder is slow attack speed

I'm sure you know already, but higher attack speed boosts spell damage

 

yes but tidebinder has quite a bit more damage which pretty much makes up for it

 

Oh fuck it it's all up to personal preferences, I'm already angry enough to call literally everybody on these forums a **** **** ****** due to the recent saltstorm of all these crazy bastards

@Geno you still have an idol correct? Well if someone or you also has a Tidebinder maybe you could do some testing and stuff.

 

I'd say use Tidebinder. Yes Idol is better in my opinion but you'd prob only get like 3-4k more dmg with Idol than Tidebinder. So for the amount of LE a Tidebinder costs conpared to an Idol, go for Tidebinder. Also, Idol has a max of 3/4s mana regen, and Tidebinder has 4/4s. So it's really about personal preference.

Also tbh, Heartache is better than both of these. It doesn't have mana regen but it does 200-300 neutral dmg and 230-340 water dmg. So for dmg it's better.

 

You guys are acting like spell damage doesn't even apply now. The truth is, it still increases your spell damage. Just because it doesn't do 21k damage on your meteor doesn't mean that spell damage sucks.

 

i know its still pretty helpful
but tidebinder has like 15% and right now its probably better than 250 raw spell damage
so i am trying to understand why idol is worth getting over tidebinder

 

There's also the fact that raw spell isn't affected by normal spell multipliers anymore in addition to speed multipliers. This means that every hit of a multiple hit spell will always deal extra neutral damage equal to your raw spell bonus. This could become quite powerful with spells like arrow storm, multihits, and war scream. I'm not entirely sure if that consequence was intentional, but raw spell is far from worthless.

Omfg... YOURE RIGHT! I don't ususally use arrow storm, but I just tested it and I'm back to doing 20k per spell :D

 

As someone who's used an Idol for a while now, I can say, it really didn't get hit too hard by the nerf, I still get over 12k uppercuts with it, and as mentioned above, there are items that can add spell % making it stronger. So no, Idol does not suck now, it's just more balanced.

 

Man, your right! It sucks now, I'm never IDOLizing another spear again!
