The Item Loss Paranoia Predicament.

Hi.

For any of you who actually care, you'll notice that I haven't been on Wynncraft lately (the server itself, not the forums)

Well, I've been feeling a little stressed about something that is causing me to not play Wynncraft for specific reasons, and in fact, is one of the biggest reasons I made this thread, to see if other people feel this way.

Item losses

No, I'm not talking about losing all your soul points and/or dropping your item into the lava, as those are entirely the player's fault for AFKing in a place like hell on earth Gelibord.

What I am talking about however, are the fear of item losses not under the player's control, AKA: ITEM LOSS GLITCHES

Imagine yourself, as a young Wynncraft player named "Xx_MLG_JIMMY_xX", you are one dedicated Wynncraft player, you are level 46, you are the leader of an active guild, and you are wearing rare/legendary gear from actively posting on the trading section of the Wynncraft forums, you're already making it big, and you're only level 46.

One day, you log on, and you notice something amiss! And it doesn't fill you with bliss! All your items vanished into thin air! Little Jimmy doesn't know why this has happened to him, after all, all he remembered was logging out outside of the Llevigar bank, he never saw this coming at all!

"I have an idea!", Little Jimmy said, with a hint of hope in his chest, "I'll go on those Wynncraft forums, to see what has happened to my beloved items!"

A few minutes later, Little Jimmy learned the cold hard truth of life

[Note: I did not make this thread to rant on the no-refund policy, while I am against it occasionally, I know that it exists for a reason]

In case you still don't get it even after reading the title of the thread and reading that little story I made, yes, the reason I haven't been on is due to a fear of randomly losing items I've worked hard to get, and I don't know whether I should pat myself on the back for making the "right" decision or whether I should punch myself in the face for being a "paranoid little shit".

See, I'm having a bit of a conflict with myself with these decisions:

"Stay away from Wynncraft so my stuff can be safe and/or wait for an update that will (hopefully) fix these glitches"

or​

"Continue to play, but at a risk of losing all of your shit out of nowhere"

And I know, maybe those "suffering" from an item loss glitch are just lying to get more free stuff (which is why the no-refund policy even exists in the first place lol) But when you see so many threads popping up about people losing their stuff for no reason, it just really deteriorates your motive to play Wynncraft in general, and if many people feel the same way I do, then that's a very big problem for the lifespan of Wynncraft as a whole.

I know, I know, bugs are hard to fix, I didn't make this thread to put more pressure on the staff team, they are already have to deal with "WHERES THE UPDATE??!!!"

And I also know that item loss glitches aren't something new, hell, I haven't even felt this paranoid about item loss glitches until the recent rise of the skill points bug, and something else....

Were just about to reach the climax of this thread folks, there is one more thing that is keeping me from playing Wynncraft: The Class deletion glitch @XavierEXE

Quick! think of one thing worse than losing items to a glitch! That's right! having something you've wasted entire months/years on deleted by a glitch!
Allow me to repeat myself, I did not make this thread to put more pressure on the staff, I made this thread to see if other people have been feeling this way about this predicament...



Well, in conclusion, I do hope in the future item/class loss glitches are a thing of the past, and I guess you could also call this a mini-rant? No clue.
I might as well repeat the question I made this whole thread for:
"Is anybody else feeling this way?"

Although they sort of fixed it by dropping the items instead of making them just vanish.

 

They lied, that was not fixed. (May have been made less common idk.)
I lost my omnitread boots (legendary) on my low level archer one day after I got it.
If I hadn't lost those, I could've had a full set of legendary armor ;_;

You know... I've had some weird stuff happen to me. I lost a heliophobia and a capsaicin with extremely good stats. About a month later... The very same items with the same stats came back to me in my vault. So if anyone asks, yes. Santa Claus exists.

 

I took option 2 during the outbreak of the Gavel disease Gavel release. I was paranoid of losing my stuff, then I came to succumb it and I did lose a few things here and there, and it wasn't a big deal. I did fear losing all of my stuff, but it didn't quite happen. But getting used to it, I took the risk, and no risk given, I was confident. Anyways, yeah, I did feel the same way in the past, but I overcame, if you are thinking of coming back (and leave again, because of hearing lvl 90 grinds are hard) go ahead.

 

I have some Omnitread Boots, if you want them, they have 13% Walk Speed

 

I am in the same predicament, and without losing anything yet, and glad for it. And I hope the next time it happens to some one, it's as useless as dirt.

PostScript: Have you realized that you sound like this is like wynncraft' major disease, like Ebola or diabetes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

The problem with that bug is that nearly every solution I can think of is slightly exploitable. For recreation why don't you ask about 10-20 volunteers to continuously do /class 50 times and then review the server's logs and try to figure out the specifics of the issue? I'm sure that there are plenty of players that would be more than happy to help squash these annoying bugs :)
