The Lag

GAWD DANG I JUST KEEP TIMING OUT WHENEVER THERE ARE LOTS OF MOBS AROUND OR I'M ON A HORSE.


We need some way to minimize lag. Or I just need to get a new computer.

 

Any suggestions?

 

I recommend deleting detlas, troms, the main questline, all of gavel, and every tree on the map I'll expect a full beta folder on my desk by tomorrow

 

okay but seriously, just get Optifine or something.

 

Not sure if resource packs are part of the problem, but a /toggle pack to only have a texture pack that changes blocks it needs to change (like weapons or secret doors) so it's not as laggy. But I just timed out again. .-.

 

I am pretty sure the ressource pack isn't the main problem.
Try switching server?

For me Wynncraft always ran fine, with 200-300 fps ;3

you should try optifine because if you already have it it may be time for a new computer m8 :o)

Do you mean computer fps issues or are you running out of memory or getting timed out? In case you're getting timed out randomly it's probably your internet connection having a bad day. If you're using wireless internet I would try connecting the computer to your router with an internet cable to get a better connection. I don't believe you're running out of ram but if you are you should probably have more ram allocated to minecraft. If you have fps issues I'm afraid there's nothing you can do if you don't want to upgrade your computer.

Mods increase lag, though....
If you have a mini-map, try clearing out the files that map out less-important areas (Basically anything but COTL to be honest), or getting a new computer is an option.

 

Mods only increase lag because they add new things. All Opti-Fine does is allow you to customize your settings to a higher level. It's for lowering lag, why would it increase it?

 

Opti-fine get me from 100 to about 250 fps on wynn, i can't see why it would make it worse.

I use wifi, but I'm running on an old mac. It's sleek but not exactly the most high tech thing. I can connect to the router so I will try that now

I run it on an old macbook and it works fine for me. Try allocating more ram to minecraft maybe? It might help.
