Life In The Ice Canyon (story Part Iii)

Matt saw the last golem run off, he thought of following it or doing something about it but he was too scared and was freezing,
all he was wearing was some brogues and clothing made from leather that come from Detlas.

Matt turned to face the windy blizzard that was supposed to hit earlier that day.
Snow was all over his face and the wind was so cold it felt like it was burning his face.
But he kept going.

Sometime later he managed to reach his doorstep.
He opened his door and closed it.
"I'M HOME" he said for no reason.
He had nothing to do.
So he walked over to his spruce wood desk and lit his candle with a match.
At the corner of his eye he noticed a tome in his bookshelf.
The title of it surprised Matt.
It had been written by a famous prospector and it told his story about how he got rich in the mesa after finding some gold in a part of the canyon that was unknown to both settlers and residents of Rymek.
And it was also very warm there.
Matt was super excited so he got out of his chair but he collapsed.
He was exhausted and sleepy.
He crawled to his cupboard and got a cup. He filled the cup with coffee and sipped it before beginning to read the Tome.
Near the ending he noticed a tattered letter stuck to a page. He snatched up the letter and peeled it open.
It had no markings other than age and weather and stains but inside of it was note
"I forgot some of the gold and left in a part of the mine before..
"Jankan... Stole it from me"
That was weird. The note had that stuff on it so that meant somebody by the name of Jankan had stolen his gold and his mine?
Later on in the book it mentioned creatures, myths and superstitions about the Mesa.
He began to read about the creatures.
When he finished reading about animated dynamite in mines, canyon bats, Reggie and Mesa coyotes and very aggressive settlers. If Matt was to go there at all. He wasn't going to die easily.

He opened a hidden compartment to his desk and pulled out a key with a label on it.
He got out of his chair and stuck the key into what looked like a crack in the floor.
It opened and the entire floorboard came up.

Inside was a case which had a rifle and some rounds for it.
It was something Matt's family had earned from over 50 years back and was kept a secret. It was a weapon that almost nobody had and a one of a kind.
Matt knew how to use and that rifles weren't one of a kind.
Angry settlers and such used a small type of handgun called a revolver in the mesa but that wasn't a problem.
Neither did Matt want to waste his rifle's ammunition so he didn't want to use it.
Instead he took a switchblade knife and a spear from his bedroom. And he'd have to steal a horse if we wanted to leave the Ice canyon.


Matt waited for the sun to set and then he would have to rob a ranch.

Matt slept through the day waiting for it to become dark.
Hours later it was midnight and the storms had calmed.
Matt opened his door letting the cold air in.
"The familiar cold I meet everytime single time I open the door or the window" said Matt.

Matt set off into the deep snow heading towards a ranch.

He had reached the big red barn with some ladders.
Matt propped the ladders by the barn and began to climb it. Matt had no idea how old or used they were.
Half way up to the top of the barn.
The ladders collapsed and Matt went sailing through the air backwards and went SPLAT onto the snow, the ladders and some buckets fell on Matt.
"Ouchie!" said Matt as he got a bucket off of his head and moved the ladder off of him.

"This is the last draw" said Matt as he ran into the barn. Climbed over a fence and jumped onto the back of a black horse.
He picked up his switchblade and sliced a rope and rode the horse out of the barn.
It galloped past starving packs of dire wolves and angry glacial golems and Cold shadows.


The creatures of the ice canyon pursued but they couldn't catch up.

Soon Matt was leaving the ice canyon and his horse was kicking all the corrupted sentinels and dire wolves in the face.

In no time Matt was already in Nessak forest but a corrupted sentinel threw his spear.
It went flying through the air and struck Matt.
"Argh!" yelled Matt. He clung to the saddle but his back felt like it was being roasted.
The pain was almost too much for him to handle.

Matt held onto the horse as it galloped out of Nessak and through a giant cave formation where an armoured zombie walked around.

He had never seen much grass or oak trees before but that was all he saw.
Though his back stung.
There was a lake with a structure in the middle and a corrupted village nearby.
There were paths and lots of grass and trees. The sun was bright and Matt felt warmer.
He had never experienced anything like this before.

He felt so much better but his back had a spear in it. As the horse trotted closer to the lake.

Matt intentionally fell off the horse and into shallow water.

He felt better as he pulled the spear out and laid in the water.

He was tired, wet and happy all at once.

He finally got out of the lake and searched his soaked backpack.

Inside was some bandages and some rags. Matt soaked a clean rag and put it on his back. He was relieved and felt a lot better. Where was he to travel now? He had no map but he knew of a city named Detlas nearby.

Matt got upon his steed and followed some gravel paths past trees and grass.

Matt rode towards Detlas and soon saw some farms, orchards, a sheep pen and was welcomed into the city by Golem guards and other elite Detlas soldiers.

This was a bit tooooo long and stuff.


Matt rode into the city where he saw nothing but villagers and humans buying, trading, selling and talking everywhere. A lot of they had good equipment.

 

I love this dood! I like what u did with the gold mine, that was halarious, and what u did with Jankan xDDDDD I laughed so hard, XDDD*Cough* Umm, Yes, stealing is a very strict lawbreaking action, I need to go talk with Jankan right away, as mayor of rymek... Ik u stoll the horse from the ranch, but I only own the mesa. so You are not punished. Now, JANKAAAAN!!! WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT BEING TOO GREEDY!!!!???

Presient trump was my top competitor. very hard to beat him but i did it!
MC Flubby wanted to turn it into ANARCHY!!! so he was first to be eliminated
Mekyr was getting too old and decided to stick with amazing founder, (I'm jealous, srryously.)
Nohats was more into the canyon settler towns and lumberjack village, so he got out quick
And the top 2 mayor champaigne runners...
Lots of people were against me and lots were against the trump himself...
Trump promised emeralds and gold, for everyone to be rich, He said he would build a gisnt wall around the savanna and desert to make Almuj pay. many people thought it was a stupid idea. many thought it was reasonable, THAT MAN! has no right to build a wall around there...
I promised security, wiseness, and prosperity. Rymek will be protected from all anarchy, and will forever be a safe enviroment. I promised no more people would end into the outlaws like reggie. rymek will flourish like a flower.
I didn't promise wealth, but I promised all that... People then started to get abit confortable around me and I won. I do feel bad for the poor people of Rymek, but atleast they're doing fine and are safe from reggie and the outlaws.
