Is There A Damage Limit??

I just met a nice Mage, which had a insane spelldamage set. He did about 22k-25k damage per meteor, but he said, Pure w/ like 300-400% Spelldamage wouldn't change much. He said, Pure does only 70damage or so like wtf...but just watch by yourself


So is that true or not....I am confused

 

It does 70 damage if you simply leftclick. But using spells will deal massive amounts of damage and increase the potency of heal as well.

Well, that's wrong. Why? Because if you have a Pure and lots of raw spell damage, then that would be multiplied a lot. Maybe this guy has lots of percentage spell damage and a wand with a lot of damage.

 

Make sense, for pure to work the best one will need armors that add spell damage values instead adding spell damage percentages

 

Actually raw values are applied after the %. Only the value on the wand itself is before the %

 

It kinda depends on your build, if you have alot in strength then you would deal more damage, plus it will increase your earth elemental power, so it really does depend on your weapon and your skill points.

Also it does 70 dmg if you use the simple attack, spells will deal more damage as stated above.

 

Never realised that... in that case, what is the point of raw spell damage if % doesn't multiply it?

Still multiplied by both the hidden attack speed multiplier and as far as I'm aware the % from the spell. So say I have 100 raw spell, 100% spell, normal attack speed and I cast meteor.

The raw spell won't be affected by the 100% spell from armor, but it is multiplied by 4 (400% from meteor) and multiplied by 1.7 (the multiplier for normal attack speed)

 

Which is 680... hmm, interesting. In that case, is Pure worth it? I mean, it's only good if 1. you have a Pure with high spell damage and 2. have high health regen (unless raw regen isn't multiplied by % too, which doesn't seem likely seeing as the whole point of the % regen is to increase large amounts of regen, not base regen).

 

Not sure but would expect there is a highest dmg output that you can't go past
