Nintendo Direct Coming March 3rd!

It's finally time, everyone! We've been waiting since November for another Direct, and now the time has finally come! The Direct will be focusing on WiiU and 3DS games coming this summer, so don't expect an NX reveal, and probably not any Pokemon/Zelda news. Also no mobile news, if you're into that. The Direct will be at 5PM EST tomorrow, so use a time zone converter to know when it'll be on if you're not in EST.

They killed my baby. You can touch Metroid, the franchise I don't even play, but when you lay even a single finger on my baby known as Paper Mario, THAT'S WHERE I DRAW THE LINE! I am coming for you Nintendo and I will do whatever it takes to #MakePaperMarioGreatAgain

 

The only things I cared about were that one co-op game by Naamco and the new Kirby game. I already knew about Revalation, didn't care about SF: Zero or Five Nights at Slippy's, didn't care about Paper Mario, didn't care about Federation Force, etc. Basically, the Direct was an improvement upon the Pokémon one from last week. I literally didn't care about a single thing in that. Sun and Moon were cool, but they got leaked and all we got were 6 seconds of concept art.

I got super excited for the new snes virtual console games... Until I found out that its only for the "new" 3Ds...

 

Hey, this new Paper Mario may not be great at first, but let's just wait until we try it and then we'll call it Sticker Star 2 or not. You know what they say, don't judge a book by its cover.

 

The new trailer already said a lot, actually:

1. Level selection system, this means the game isn't an interconnected world and is instead divided up into insolated levels.
2. While there is turn-based combat, stickers are back in the form of cards. So your attacks are limited. Again.
3. There's no indication of an experience system, which means battles will be just as worthless as in Sticker Star.
4. All the Toads have bland designs, no original ones.
5. There definitely appears to be less of an emphasis on story once more, what we were introduced seems to explain a pretty solid amount of the plot.
6. The game starts out with an empty town, meaning there won't be any interesting characters, at least not for a while.
7. The Paint Can is almost definitely Kersti 2.0

This is all affirmed by these excerpts from a Sticker Star Iwata Asks. They even consider Sticker Star the "new standard" Like, if Color Splash is a fun game, that's fantastic. But that's not what everyone's complaining about. They're complaining about the fact that this experience is NOT the Paper Mario we know and love and a small glimpse of it has already shown that.
