Question: What Does Stealing Do? And How Do You Know What The Max Identifications Are???

I am a noob at this so you can laugh at me all you want.

 

Stealing has a chance to drop an emerald. As for max IDs, no idea.

It gives you a chance to make a mob drop an emerald, even if you didn't kill it.

 

The max ID's of specific items? Go on to the item guide search for the item and the multiply the numbers shown there by 1.3 for the max and 0.3 for the min (if its not on there I have no idea c:)

Stealing has a % chance that, when you attack a mob (Passive, Neutral, Hostile or Sentry) they will drop an emerald. I believe this can only happen 5 times per mob to prevent farming.

Example: If I have 25% Stealing chance, and I hit a villager, there is a 1/4 chance he will drop an emerald. Therefore, hitting him 4 times will most likely cause him to drop an emerald.

It's a fairly useless ID considering it's cap and uses, so don't try to revolve around it; keep it as a nice passive.

 

you mean an annoying passive that continuously gets in your way without helping you, right?

 

I don't really see how it's annoying nor how it could get in your way. It's simply a chance an emerald will pop out of the enemy your hitting; the only way I could see this getting in the way is if you get hit whilst trying to pick up the emerald that dropped.

 

It really clutters up the ground if you're hitting a lot of enemies making it annoying for loot farming.

 

Hm, I never saw it that way. I guess it can be a little annoying then.
