i think i forgot to take a picture of it but in the mountains in gavel there is a house with some crates labled as GavelExcavation. maybe it has something todo with wynnexcavation and soforth something with this?

 

I've seen that too, but the only way WynnExcavation and the Ancients were related is that they both tried to use the crystals.
As for GavelExcavation, it is possible that they are the remnants of WynnExcavation and have found another way to become powerful. There are currently 2 locations I know of: this and a crate on one of the ships outside Llevigar. There is apparently another at Karoc Quarry.

Trust me, that is something I plan on looking into. But I don't think it fits with ancients right now...

 

Everyone seems to forget that WynnExcavtion is a sub company of GavelExcavation and still a company, and has to do some real excavation to make profit.

Ok, so I like to play devil's advocate so I came up with an argument each on why it could be Dark or Sexy.

Dark:

Let's assume they are referring to an object. They know the object has some dark magic to it, so they assume the darkness of Dern is affecting the object. Then one guy is like "hey! It's not the outside darkness that's affecting it, it's that the object itself is inherently dark. It's not darkness that's affecting the item, the item is just natural dark"




Sexy:

Ok so this one is kind of weird. I end up talking about breeding, sex slave conditions, and stuff like that. So don't take this is like a random thing, look at this as if it is bio class. Imagine that there is a giant beast in Dern. Like a queen bee. And the ancients are like the drones. They are forced to mate with the big beast due to it's dark influence. They don't like it, so they run away. but one guy goes insane and is like "It's not dark what we are doing, I find it rather sexy". And that would be that.

Well if you are thinking about it in a biological way, it's more like bugs mating than anything else.

But still, I made those arguments for the sake or Devil's Advocate. I did not actually intend for those to be taken as real ones.

 

Well how the fuck do you think a company works? They gotta pay the miners, and pay for the equipment to do the excavating. So they do need to actually do their job sometimes.

 

We just thought Wynn Excavation was a secret society pretending to be a company. And Gavel Excavation was a joke continuation of that...

 

Well they are a legitimate company helping Wynn discover lost relics such as the temple, and the path between Rymek and Detlas Plains

 

THATS WHY THEY WERE IN THE ABANDONED MINES.

We thought they were searching for Dern (cuz you know, dern and abandoned mines have been linked for a while)

 

Everything makes sense

 

But then again, I still find it interesting how we can link all of WE's doings in Wynn directly back to either Crystals, Ancients, Dern or The Eye.

Sites A-E are for the crystals, (although site E had nothing), the whole society (cuz the quests say it's not just a company, but an evil society) worth is the eye, Site D connects to Ancients and the Eye, and the abandoned mines connect to Dern via portal.

I feel almost as if you are trying to cover up what WE has been doing...

 

Oh yea I also wanted you to maybe put links for all the recent/active Ancient threads.

 

(hopefully) we'll add it to the Grand Theorists thread (we should do that for our collective theories tbh)

 

I'd think it's "Evil". But then why darkness would be different than Evil ? I think that the forces of Light and Darkness aren't the Forces of Good and Evil fighting off, merely sentient races trying to survive and expand their territories. But a new force emerged from Darkness, who is unfortunately more inclined to be corrupted, and this force is Evil. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Light and Darkness are fighting each other, but they're not involving us directly, whereas Evil wants total domination over all of Wynncraft
