I mean, maybe that was the point in Jungle Fever, because... Worid. If that's what they meant then it should be worded better.

Nah, the point is that you (the player) are misguided and helping Worid, because you believe that that is what is best. (However, it's not.) Besides, "Talk back to Worid" clearly wouldn't be a quest stage if meant that way because players are meant to be silent during quest dialogues.

I'd like to say that although it's nice for this thread to exist, we're forgetting that some people really do speak that way. Detective Jackson, for all his spelling errors, doesn't seem like the brightest of detectives; He wants you to do all his work and then he says that Llevigar had bad security. I mean, come on.
My point here is that when he says "They must have got in", that's actually a common mistake that many people make. It's their way of speech. "Ain't" isn't a real word, but others use it.

 

Every time that I see "infact", I'm certain that the author meant infarct.

Just because someone added a word to the auto correct dictionary, that does not mean that it is, in fact, always correct. Case in point, anymore is a regional word in the Southeastern US, and should be used nevermore, quoth the raven.

 

I find it intruiging how people talk about knowing characters' personality, but then dissing them for thigs that they simply can't do. The detective found out what happened to Piere's house but he's a detective, not a soldier. He also can't go around breaking truces. Don't listen to Piere; he's just an idiot.

 

Just today, in Almuj, I saw that the Emerald Merchants were called "emerald Merchant"

I agree with you that we should take into account the way that people speak. However, Detective Jackson otherwise has perfect English grammar (minus the obvious typos), showing that the one mistake he made was probably not intended.

If we look at, say, Doubiss's speech, then it is clear that he is not supposed to be speaking perfectly. So I would not correct his lines and say that he should have better speech.

Agreed, because do we honestly want a thread on how "The Hunger of Gerts" is grammatically incorrect?

 

"What wrong with Gert speech? Gert speak just fine. Gert not stupid. Gert know humie not friend. Gert no like humie. Gert kill humie. Gert cook humie. Then Gert eat humie with gert friends." Sounds legit, for a Gert.
"I say there, Human, what is wrong with my speech, in your point of view? I believe that I am speaking quite well. Are you, by any chance, implying that I am somehow of limited intelligence? If you are attempting to insult me, then it is quite obvious to me that you are not my friend, despite your claims to the contrary. If so, then I shall dispatch with you, followed by a good and proper cleaning of your carcass. After that, I shall cook your carcass, well basted and properly prepared of course, and serve it to my friends and family." Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. This does not fit how even the most educated Gert would talk.

It is best to find out what Salted/Grian prefer, as either gotten and got are correct in different parts of the world. In America, for example, gotten and got are used in different situations, however in Britain, I think got is almost exclusively used.

I found a unique dagger called Kanata, I would say it's a typo but idk because there is already a rare dagger called Katana.

 

You cannota call that unique dagger Katana because there is a rare dagger called Katana, just like you said. So, whatsa the problem? Call the weaker one Kanata because it cannota be called a Katana, and you're all set.

 

The Kanata KAN NAT be a Katana! Huehuhehueeueh

 

Let us not forget one rather ambiguous typo complication: the conflicting spellings of "Efelim/Efilim":

Even half the townsfolk themselves don't know how to spell it correctly! Either that, or half the townsfolk are visitors from a secret alternate town with a different spelling. Or maybe I'm on shrooms again. Who knows, probably the latter...
