Defective Iron Golem and Theory REDEEM Data File
WARNING: This data file contains spoilers for the ENTIRE IRON HEART QUEST LINE.

Attack Power: 1 and 1/2th hears of damage with level 77 identified Restored Ancient Helmet,
Spawning Method: Only spawns underground at x-1731, y 35, z -5103
Drops: One power source and mechanical piece.
This is the defective guard golem, a golem that has ran away from its owner.
Upon entering its cave, it begins to speak and wonders what has happened to it, before it breaks down and cries.
Before this quest, many believed the iron golems to be mere machines.
Now, that is no longer the case.
In reality, every iron golem is a combination of a villager and metal, fused into a tormented creature that is forced to guard and stand around.
This guard golem retained its soul, allowing it to break free of the control of the man who turned so many innocent people into these creatures, Dr Urelix.
The golem has a charge attack that it will use against you, and any who get near it.

While this mob still tries to kill you, it is unlike most in that it just wishes to be left alone.
The golem didn't ask to be made into this, it was forced into this horrific and unethical combination of metal and villager.
But for now, here is my theory on the matter.
Theory REDEEM
For this quests end, you have a choice.
You can stop this horrific torment, or take a bribe and let it continue.
Some may lie about the choices they made, but i dont intend to.
I...let it continue.
There are two reasons for this.
1, i was unaware that clicking through the dialogue too fast would force me into the bribe choice. So don't do that. DON'T DO IT.
But my second reason is this.
At the time, i did see his logic.
I thought that he was right that stopping the creations of the iron golems would result in the destruction of all we fought for.
But after the past week of depressing history i have dealt with, i relieze i was wrong.
We don't need the iron golems to protect Wynn or gavel.
WE ARE ABLE TO PROTECT IT.
Also, if the company is able to fuse villagers and golem in such a manner, why dont they just make suits of armor to pilot?
I know that the villagers are capable of such making and using such tech.
So in the end, there is NO justification for standing up for such a horrendous process.
I know i made the wrong choice, and i plan to fix it.
I am currently attempting to REVERSE the process and turn the golems back into normal villagers.
Hopefully, i will be able to revert the process some day.
For now, all i say is this.
NEVER let something in the real world or in game pressure you into making a unethical choice.
Such pressure has lead to some of the worst atrocities in human history, and i know some who do it "because i want to."
Don't let your choice remove the choices of others.

I reported the guy because all the cities of Wynn have trained guards of some kind. Troms and Ragni have firing archer squads, and at Ragni has a platoon of guards, Detlas has guards, havent gone to Almuj or Nemract so idk what they have, but theyre still alive, and Nesaak was kind screwed from the start. But we humans have plenty of potential to survive without the golems.

 

Yeah, I opened my quest book and his huge hitbox made me choose his option. But if you take swarms into consideration, we are perfectly capable of defending cities as long as we have notice.

And finally a theory on something little and not gamechanging.

 

Maybe if you took the time to read the hard work some GM put into thay dialogue;-;

I right clicked my quest book to see what to do next and it finished the quest.

I completed the Iron Heart part II in a party of 4. We were smart about this so three of us took the bribe while one of us spilled the beans to the detective :).

Well it's actually smart to do this because you can just scroll up to read later. This was actually a good habit back when Wynn still had the random instant server resets. If the server reset during a quest dialogue it could mess the quest up by a lot especially quests that involve the player giving the item. So this happened:

I chose to report Dr. Urelix to Detective Hart. Do you know why?

In the teaser for this quest Grian made a while back, there was an added scene that we don't really see in the quest (well we kinda do). When walking into the Factory, we see one of the missing people tied up in a cell. He says (muffled) "Please don't let them kill me!".

Now just imagine if you were one of those villagers, taken from your house unknowingly. You're stuck in a cell, waiting to be put into machinery, and there's nothing you can do; no hope left, nobody to save you. You'd undergo massive amounts of pain, having your flesh forged into a golem's body. By the end of it, however, you'd still be alive. You couldn't control what you did, you only felt cold.

That's why Dr. Urelix had to be stopped. We know there are Golems made from Iron, as we see them in Relic Shrines, which are (probably) far older than Urelix and the Factory, so by stopping him this doesn't mean all the Golems are going to vanish.

I also prefer going by the Minecraft theory of Golems being inspired by the robots from Laputa: Castle in the Sky.

At this rate, the mods will NEVER stop bugging me about it.
Fairly, it is frustrating.
Even in video games, i take moral decisions like this EXTREMELY SERIOUSLY.

I'm pretty sure most of the people doing the quest chose him. A lot of them accidentally talked to him when trying to look in their quest book. Then there were the others *cough cough* me *cough cough* who just took the bride because we wanted the emeralds. I don't regret my descision though.
