You knew this would be a high risk high return, maybe you shouldn't have started with something so valuable :/

Try to build up reputation with smaller Silent Auctions to tell people that you are trustworthy and honest in your management, then you can throw in some big boys and let the crowd roll in. The way people think now is to play it safe, which isn't what you want. You want people to bid their absolute highest to secure the item.

People who lose previous Silent Auctions would become more and more generous in their bids as they know there will be others bidding higher than them.
