Don't You Span In The Closest City?

So I was trying to go to Ahmsford (please correct me if I spell it wrong) and I did my escape spell going to a mountain and it glitched and did't let me fall down soft and when I died I spawned in Thanos.

 

Thanos was the closest city then.

 

But I actually saw Ahmsford and Thanos was like 600 blocks from me.

 

You spawn in the closest town you have been to. Since you didn't actually reach Ahmsord, it couldn't spawn you there.

(I have no idea how you managed to get to the sky islands from Gavel without entering Rodoroc or Kandon-Beda, which are both closer to Ahmsord than Thanos is)

 

He was using escape to get over the mountains.

 

If he could see Ahmsord and went over the mountains, 90% of those mountains count as Kandon-Beda.

 

He might have gone diagonally, not through the southern canyons.

 

It's possible, but doing that I would think he would have gone above Rodoroc.

 

Well I didn't know that i could spawn in Kandon-beta so i didn't go there but it was in sight.

Oh and I spawned in Lexdale, the city thats close to ToA (please tell me if you know the name of it), and Thanos and I haven't been to any of them and I have spawned in them.
