    -=NOTE=-
---This is no where near finished, i just wanted to show you guys :p---

    Hello all (:
So. I was doing the lord of the rings themed quest (One of my favs so far btw :P), and in that quest you have to travel to Mt. Wynn to destroy the ring you are given. And as soon as i saw Mt. Wynn, i was utterly inspired to do something like that... A mountain, of sorts. See, i held off because i knew it would require WorldEdit, and i'd never used it so i figured it would just be too hard. Anyways, This morning i decided i may as well give it a shot. Try worldedit out and make a mountain of significance, you could say.... Turns out, with the wiki helping me, i learnt worldedit quick as shit, and was able to get right on to this build right here!
I'm showing this because i'm a little proud, and i'd also love to hear suggestions as to what else could go here. The lore is that this tree is worshiped by town folk below, in a village yet to be built and named in amongst the trees below.

(The mountain needs more tera-forming, with other blocks like dirt, grass, gravel and maybe andesite... i just haven't got around to it yet :P)
Tell me what you all think <3

This might be a stupid question, but how do you make such a big tree without the leaves decaying?

I think if a leaf is connected to a leaf and *chain reaction* connecting to a tree trunk, it doesn't decay.

@Tompy I think you could make the mountain slope more, right now it still looks like it was made with World Edit.

If you look closely, you can see logs mixed in with all the leaves, meaning they won't decay.

    @Oryx
Funny you mention that, it's actually what i'm doing right now. Going at sections with a small smooth brush, and then going in by hand to fix those minor hiccups. Thanks for noticing though (:

I'm quite sure that player-placed leaf blocks will never decay, actually.

Thank you (: and that's what i'm doing right now, still making the mountain look natural. i've added multiple blocks (andesite, clay, gravel, and some dirt and grass down the bottom and top) And now i'm just going in bit by bit making it look like it hasn't been world edited.. taking a little while.

    --UPDATE--
Got some more work done on the mountain, still some intensive terraforming needed for it to feel complete. Also began work on a path leading to the village, and also a food source for the village folk (Large wheat field and an animal barn). Loving this build thus far, Can't wait to show you guys a completed town. Then who knows, might continue the lore , build other smaller towns, other religions and beliefs, make this place a complete world? Tell me what you all think (:

I use world edit, which is obvious, then just go in and touch up particular areas by hand. It takes me a long ass time, compared to others who wholy use the smooth tool, but the results seem worth it :p

The mountain is nice but you could work on adding some details to the field and make a better roof. But it's cool cool

Thankyou for the advice, i'll see what i can do. As for a better roof, mind giving me some examples? Roofing is one aspect of building i desperately need to work on. Any potential strategies for a more interesting roof would be appreciated (:

Well first of, personally, I don't think the 2 colors of the wood mix but that's just taste. And for the form of the roof, maybe make it more curvy and high?

I feel so much envy for people who can build custom trees. I fail so much at it XD
This looks great, nice work ^^

hahaha :') It took me a long time to learn. Just study the structure of them and you'll get there. i'm still fairly iffy at it, but i'm progressing slowly :p
    ________________________________
I think i will keep the varied block types, as i personally like it, but i will try giving the roof on those straights some oddities. little nooks, etc, might make it more interesting to look at.
    Thankyou for the advice (:

P.S. There are different IDs for Leaves that Decay and leaves that Don't.
If you can use the non-decaying leaves in VS, You won't need Wood at all.
