We know of at least five. But there are more purple and blue energy spots around, so its possible that more purple and blue meteors exist

Grian said the Decay was different than corruption, though the two seem to be linked. My understanding of it is that Corruption is created when light and darkness contact each other, whereas Decay is what happens when light is removed from its area and (possibly) replaced with darkness. I have no idea if any of that is actually how it works, though WynnExcavation Site D seems to confirm the former statement.

That could fit in with the name "Realm of Shadows" as a shadow is just an absence of light. Good thinking!
