Where Is Nyris? (npc)

I was looking all over the entrance of Almuj, and Nyris, the NPC for the Lost Tower quest isn't here.

I'm pretty sure he was removed...

 

You were able to start that quest at 2 different npcs a while back. Now it starts exclusively in Nemract.

Yup. Strangely enough, there was an NPC in Almuj before update 1.12 that you had to bring the book of bones to. It's a good thing they removed that, since going to Almuj at level 27-ish was pretty dangerous.

 

Some say he got entangled with the Almuj underground and was never heard from again.

Others say he was just a quest NPC that wasn't needed anymore.

I say the latter, but believe what you want.

 

Yet the quest "The Mercenary" is level 28.

 

Because the Desert is much less dangerous now. The Savannah's Ocelots used to go from Lv 26-30. Now they range from Lv 25-27. Similarly, you most likely will not find enemies in the Desert above Lv 34 nowadays. They became much safer to cross.
