Lost Gear And Other Things

This is going to be a bit of a wall of text, so apologies in advance.

I'm not a new user to Wynncraft, I've been playing for months now. I just never signed up to the forums because I didn't want to engage the community in this way. Everything was fine until I leave for about a month and lose interest because other games were feeding my MMO addiction.

Until I return today and the Gavel expansion has been out for awhile.

I'm a deer caught in the headlights because all my gear is "unidentified" when it's been on my body for awhile. I have a full inventory, which I think is partially relevant. I make one space and click the helm I've been wearing--the rest of the gear on my body leaves and vanishes. Gone. Just gone. 3 pieces of Rare gear I'd spent countless hours honing and identifying--destroyed. One in my hand now--the helm.

Shocked, I look around my inventory. I check my player stats. 100-some odd skill points need reassigned. So I assigned them how I had leveled my character in the past. Then I go to identify the one item I did get from my player body--the helm. Turns out it's an epic that I can't use because I don't have enough assigned skill points in an area it needs to be equipped. And from what I can see, I can't reassign my skill points at all. So I'm basically boned on that piece of gear too.

I don't know what to do. I might have a screenshot of what my gear was pre-Gavel, but other than that, I have nothing to show for all the rare gear I had accumulated. My forum name is my in-game name. If someone wants to tell me what I should do, I'll be glad to hear it, because otherwise I'm in a bit of a pickle and I'm not happy about it.

That's a shame. There is a no refund policy.

 

I understand, but sadly there is a no-refund policy. I recommend you start over because of this and because the game is very different.

 

Is there a way to reassign skill points at least?

Also, I've got a legendary weapon that seems to have retained its old tags from pre-Gavel. Any chance I can get a replacement? Screenshot incoming.

You use your little compass to assign stats, just like before. The chests in the middle of the screen are what you click on. Mousing over them will tell you what they are. Yeah, a few items get bugged out and are no longer usable unless they update them in the future. Best to toss em or save. Just dont sell them cause that's bad. ;P

 

I need to reassign my skill points because I assigned them already (before I knew I needed to identify gear first). The gear piece I have won't let me wear it until I get more skill points to put into the area it needs.

Also, you're saying I can't use my legendary weapon anymore because it wasn't updated? Seriously?!?

 

Yeah, it's a serious pain in the butt. I lost a few good pieces too. But to re-assign you'll have to buy a scroll from the Tower of Amnesia(?) It's 1LE. But in order to do that, you have to do the quest to open it if you haven't already. It's at [102, -1205]

 

I completed the quest. I suppose to get the stats I need, I must do it.

Lessons learned. Painful, but true.

same thing happened to me i have not played in awhile and then i got on and took off one peace of my armor and the whole thing came off and i last a lot of stuff also my wand is outdated and never said to idenfi it sorry for any bad spelling but any ways all my wands are to high level for me and now i got really nothing i like wynncraft but all the time needed to get my stuff back is to much wynncraft looks nice and fun to play but now it still dose look fun but way more complex then it used to be and there is nothing telling anything about how it works also i went to the map and there was no guild battle thing what is with that

also is there away to restart your account esep for your bank so i do not lose all my money etc.

 

A few notes on gameplay:

--Health is now much harder to maintain. Natural regen is way slower now (I suppose this makes health regen gear better, by the by).
--Potions are now more necessary than before. I used to only need potions as a last resort because the natural health regeneration kept me going. Now you MUST use potions if you plan on surviving in any area appropriate to your level.
--The little projectile shooting zombies from the Jungle got WAY buffed in this new expansion. Their rapid fire shots will tear through your health (although in my current gear state I can't say whether or not it's a function of my bad gear).
--I feel a lot slower than I used to feel. The mana regen being much less means that I can't spam my Charge spell wantonly. This may also be a function of server lag as there are lots of people on enjoying the new expansion.
--I'm level 57. My power level feels more like level 47. Now I have to grind gear or give up on this character, and I'm inclined to do the latter, given the bad taste in my mouth. I'm going to take a breather and come back when I'm not so aggravated.
--All in all, I understand why this game has changed. It has made more aspects of the game relevant than just "Loot Bonus" "XP Bonus" "Attack Bonus". There has been a definite difficulty spike, and it's a challenge players have to face or leave.

 

--Mage now a very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very good support class. I can heal other players 5-10k HP ;3

 

with all this new stuff for a new player it would kinda be easier since they have the tatoral to help them with all of the new items and so on it dose look cool and it is a good idea to make the game better but i am use to the old version of wynncraft and loseing the best wand i can use is kinda annoying i do think thay need to have more of a warring when you take of your armor after the update but the thing is my wand is outdated i think it still ahs the same things i used to have so i can not use it so i do think i should get a replacement or get my wand fix i get lose your armor and not getting it back but i never lost my wand it just wont work witch means that it is the creaters of wynncraft fault not mine but any ways i know have a depressing stick lol

 

Happened to me too. I had to run around naked trying to grab gear from low level mobs. It felt actually humiliating ;-;

 

This seems like a HUGE flaw and failure with the Gavel upgrade. I don't want to talk bad about the owners/devs of Wynncraft, because they've built a beautiful world. This issue with players losing their gear just seems so egregiously obvious and bad, though.
