An Iron Heart Part 2 Help

So I just finished An Iron Heart Part II, but when I was speaking to the owner of the Iron Golem factory, and he said to talk to him again if i wish to take his agreement, I wanted to check my quest book because it said "Quest book updated" in the chat. But without thinking, I click on the guy again and complete the quest, not knowing what I could've done otherwise. Now I'm stuck with greaves of shame and the feeling I chose wrong. So could anybody please tell me what the quest book says at that point and/or what happens if I don't accept that npc's agreement? Thank you in advance. #Missclicksareshit

 

If you don't choose to take the bribe, you will need to go back to the starter NPC, the detective. He'll congratulate you and say something about the wrongness of what was going on in the factory, and then will send people in to shut it down. The reward for that choice will be 200 less emeralds, and Greaves of Honor. Greaves of Honor give you an XP bonus, as well as some other identifications that I can't recall at the moment. You aren't missing out on too much, in my opinion. Your choice likely won't affect anything in the future.

Same thing happened to me but thankfully I was going to take the bribe anyway XD
And you may not have clicked on him. Since the Gavel update, if you interact in any way around an NPC, it will start a conversation. Interacting includes triggering pressure plates, buttons, opening quest book, opening compass, using a weapon, or clicking for any reason in the general area of the NPC. I believe this was done to not only fix the nonexistent hitbox of baby NPCs, but also since they now have non-human NPCs like letters, rifts, trees, and other such NPCs that would be difficult to interact with otherwise. You may not have clicked on him at all, and instead be a victim of the new system, like many others.

Rip, i would have rather taken the xp boost. Oh well...
