Wiki Update

Is it just me or does everyone feel like the wiki should be completely wiped cause SO much is out of date that is is almost impossible to work around?

 

Maybe just re do it, and make it up to date?

 

I think the wiki first has to update the current content and then add the new things

 

Yeah I'm working on gathering A LOT of new data. Making Java programs to help sort it into spreadsheets and it feels all for nothing if the wiki is as unreliable as it is now.

@WynnCraft is there someone in staff that I can contact who is dedicated to maintaining the wiki rather than leave it only to players to update? I would love to discuss and present some of my data to them.

 

I noticed Wiki has been slowly updating and new contect from Gavel is being added, so data should be reworked, not deleted.

 

I think Tama is in charge of the wiki, but ultimately its user-based.

 

Stats of weapons/ armor are missing and locations of many merchants moved/updated. Items they sell and so on

 

The only big problem is item stats. Most other things like mobs and existing quests should be fine

 

As a contributor of the wiki, I think we just need to wait and update all of the information. Gavel was a large update and many things were re-worked and moved and added. So it will take time. Another thing is that the wiki recently broke (again) making it where you cannot log in, claiming cookies are not enabled even if they are. So until that is fixed there isn't much that can be done, just wait and be patient as it gets updated.

 

Salted recently announced that the wiki account confirmation problems are fixed, but I can't tell you if that's actually true. All I know is that you have to confirm your account by clicking on a link in an email sent to you by the wiki system. That email was never sent to anyone in the last few months. Maybe it works again now.
As for the content, yes, it is very outdated in some places, but there is no dedicated "wiki team" that fixes these things. Everyone has to contribute their own parts to the wiki. I myself added a lot of new pages in the past, and will probably start adding Gavel Quests, NPCs and Items soon too when I have some time. However, I won't fix outdated content unless I randomly find a wrong or misleading information. If you feel bothered by it, I encourage you to help the wiki out!

 

The wiki is currently broken (for me at least) for logging in at all, giving you an error for not enabling cookies. Thanks O-Tama. I made a whole page about the Acquiring Credentials quest and it wanted me to relog when I saved it, and then it broke.
