SPOILER What Do We Know About Nilrem?

I have a little theory. We don't know what the rest of the letter says except that Relend tells us. The note only says that it was to Nilrem. My theory is that Relend was the one who was trying to write that letter to Nilrem. He just uses the 'I suppose he died' to cover up the possibility that it was him who wrote it. Of course, he left the letter so you know who it was to and that there actually was a letter. He then tells you the rest because Nilrem is someone we need to know about. That's why we could find the letters before: we were the first to find them because we are the main character, the person who solves the problems in the world. So in that level 15 quest so long ago, relics are introduced to us. What if there is another WynnExcavation, EXCEPT that it is not evil and instead helps us. The guy who gave us that quest put us on the trail of the relics for the reward of the rare powders. But then he told us that there were some which were harder to find, where we found the letters from. Then Nilrem is part of it, possibly the leader, and Relend basically puts us on the trail of Nilrem. And once we finally meet Nilrem, who knows? He could show us something, give us something or something else. And then the rest of the people we meet on quests. How many of them are part of this organisation? We could be robbing Almuj to fund their organisation. We could be introduced to quests like ToA just so that we can become more powerful. We could be eliminating WynnExcavation so that there is only one threat. What is this threat? We don't know yet. I'm guessing that it was the 'beast' from the letters. And the last thing, what is Nilrem's Curse? Well, it's quite obvious from the ids. He can't regenerate health. Now lets assume, because of the health, that Nilrem had 1240 health (4 times the amount from Nilrem's Curse). So Nilrem is running because of his curse. Why? Because otherwise a mob would catch up with him and he would lose health. Of course, it is impossible to avoid damage forever. Lets assume he would stick to the safest places possible (and that swarms still exist so that cities aren't completely safe). Lets say that he takes, on average, 5 damage per minecraft day. Why 5? Idk, just seems that if you try to avoid everything, sticking to less dangerous areas, then you would end up with something like this. 1240/5 is 248. This means that Nilrem has exactly 248 days to live from when the curse happened. Relics came out long before 248 days ago. So we have failed and Nilrem is now dead. That is, unless he made a secret hiding place which no enemy of his could enter. But such a hiding place would be impossible to make... or impossibly hard to find. Except for us, as long as we find the right clues. Then maybe Nilrem is keeping an item with him which would help us. Of course, he couldn't leave the item with anyone because the item would be chased after, and it's owner would be given a curse by whoever is looking for the item. What is the item? I believe the item could be the machine. Now, why would Relend warn us from entering the portal? Well, darkness is inside it. And of course, whatever is inside will be so horrible that they would torture us for information on Nilrem. Then Nilrem would die, the item would be back in evil hands (I assume Nilrem stole it from something evil or got it before evil could get it or evil wouldn't want it) and everything would be lost.

 

Good thoguhts, but how does bob fit into all that?

 

This is the Light Puzzle. You do it in the Aldorei's Secret Part II quest. So the player you play as figure it out ;>

I haven't really looked at the corrupted items. But Bob would be part of the organisation, as the quest NPC (can't remember his name) in Reincarnation sends you deep into the Tomb. Bob then tells you that he is going to give you lots of power. So basically he is yet another agent.

 

Why arent you a GM?

 

Because... well.. umm actually IDK. I guess I just never applied. And I don't have the time to be super committed all the time. (wait, to GMs get paid?)

Yesterday I went to the Gateway Island again, and walked to the portal.
I ran around the portal searching for some stuff to "theorize" about. I realized that endermen started spawning, more and more of them. They were named "Otherwordly Inhabitant". Endermen, with really no name? What kind of realm/dimension did we visit? Does it have a connection to Dern, perhaps? Did Nilrem try to enter Dern? err nevermind.

ANYWAYYY... I went to the... let's call the realm otherworld. I went to the Otherworld and I saw ruins here and there. Ruins of buildings. I saw nice houses, except they were ruins. Houses? Who lives in houses? Mostly humans/villagers, right? I found Wither skeletons there, too! They were yellow-named though. That means there were people who lived in the Otherworld, right?

Oh my freaking god... After all these months. I can finally say that I have found true evidence of Dern. And it comes from where I least expected it. Anyone still caring about this thread, just wait, cuz I am going to go full out theorist on you guys as soon as I finish edititng this. Trust me, when I am done with this, get ready to shat bricks...

I am. I can work with lore and storyline and stuff, but I don't know that .yml thing or whatever its called. I think you need to know how to use that. I might make an application. In the mean time, enjoy the new section!

 

I don't believe Dern is a dimension, because this one was small, I tried to explore as much as I could, and it wasn't much. (Or the portal only led me to a small part of Dern, who knows.)
This is getting more interesting than it was at first. It was about Nilrem first, and then Gateway Island, and then Dern. But where is Gateway Island? In what province? There is A LOT to theorize about this particular quest.

 

Well, yeah. I believe you only saw a small part. I mean, if its a whole province, you only probobly saw an area as large as Ragni. I do like your question, where is gateway island? If it is an island, it must be in the ocean? Is the ocean bigger than what we have access to?

Consider this:

The ocean is part of Wynn province. Why did the villagers come to Wynn? Wee they did it by accident. They were using the ocean to create a new trade route, but their ship got wrecked on the coastal trail, and they built maltic in that spot. They knew the ocean was there? But thats part of wynn, and the only reason they came to wynn was because they were using the ocean? I argue that the ocean comes around like an L shape. If Gavel is north, then the ocean continues to the west and comes up the west side of the plains and swamp of Gavel. Thats how they knew the ocean was there to make a trade route.

By that logic the ocean could extend much farther than we realize, making more provinces connectable by boat! Who knows where gateway island is located. But I argue that it is smack in the middle. Since it IS kind of the gateway to Dern (if we are correct)

If the ocean does not extend, then we have found a break in Wynncraft logic. hopefully it will turn out like the last one!

@SPYROHAWK so you're saying that Dern is a province... inside a realm? Or am I not getting this right? Because I found it pretty cool. A province.. in a realm! Wait, who said Dern is a province? xD

 

yml is basicially a way of formatting stuff. so basicially i belive how the quests work is the code is made so that it says itat deifferent times etc, and the way the chat works for it and how it takes from the yml file, and then the yml is the format, so basicially changing a property in np++ for like essentials or something

 

No, I never said it was a province in a realm. I was just trying to compare sizes. If Dern is the size of a province,than what we see was probably the size of ragni or something?
