Soft Cap On Skills?

So me and my friends are leveling our skills for our classes but we noticed that we are getting less and less stats for each time we level. My strength is at 68 atm and I'm wondering if I should stop leveling it and focus on defense now. I'm only getting .5 per point I put into it so idk if it's worth it. Can anyone tell me when the best time to stop putting points into a skill is?

 

The actual cap is at 100 skill points, but each skill point gives progressively less of the skill as you go up. I'm not sure what the percentage cap is though.

 

Ooh good question, id like to know the answer. The whole strength thing depends on you though. Idk what class you are, for archer .5 could make a decent difference, and it would allow you to use items with higher stat requirements. However, if you were say, a mage, and you didnt need to meet any stat requirements, then id say stop investing

 

Skillpoint Cap isn't actually 100. This weapon requires 110 Defense.

 

Wearing items that add skill points can boost the max above 100, but the standard max is indeed 100 points. :) @Chibiest Kitsune

 

So far as I know, there is no hard cap. If you want to pour all points into 1, go ahead. But each point gives less than the one before it, so past 125, there really is no point.

 

The skill cap is 100, however if you have an item that modifies your skills, it will go above 100. Thus, you can use this amazingly purple weapon.

 

Ah, I thought you guys meant like the absolute cap, like when it can't go above even with gear.

 

So if I'm a Warrior just going for a standard Strength then Defense, at what point should I transition into putting points into Defense?
