Having Trouble With Armor

So uh, just to clarify, I know that armor changes your stats now.
I was just strolling around today in Gelibord bored as hell, then I decided "I should try using
Champion Armor." So I went over to the bank, got my Champion Armor, then saw my stats.
I was significantly weaker than before. So I put my endgame back on. Now, I was wearing Crystal
before I put on Champion Armor. But when I tried putting it back on, it said I needed 30 Intelligence.
I obviously had 30 Intelligence before since I was able to wear it.
