As probably all of you have seen, people seem to be pretty upset about the update. It just blows my mind that all this hard work has been done and people have literally already started sledging the devs for their bad work. And I know that something with effort doesn't necessarily make it good, but come on. This is the freaking Gavel update!

So, If you think that this update is a fail because of these people, it real isn't. It's amazing, and probably 85-90% of all people would agree. It's the minority that tend to shout and call it bad. But look, an opinion is an opinion and you can't really change that. But it's the stupid things that make me really mad.

Like, jeese, people complaining that their damage has decreased dramatically are incredibly ignorant. They don't even look at the other stats. It probably has insane attack speed or has heavy buffs to it to balance it out! And the fact that people dislike the resource pack. When I began a fresh adventure a player who also joined swore and complained that the RP was horrible and left. He didn't even give it a chance...

This next guy I'm putting in a spoiler. If what I'm doing is against the rules, just notify me and I'll take it down:

This guy was saying beforehand that, because his items have skill reqs, and he can't use them, the entire update is fucked. Like, THAT is what true thickness is. He's thinking about himself here, and not even attempting to consider the rest of the update. He dislikes elements because of similarities to Avatar... like really? He's even saying that the server lost heaps of money.

So what I am really saying is that the complainers are not true players and hate change; they want to find a reason to sledge the game, and quit because things didn't go their way. What do you guys think?

TL;DR: The complainers are not worth listening to because so many other players enjoy it.

I'd personally like to say to anyone who complains about the changes: Start from the beginning.

The biggest issue is that by being level 75 and already having amazing gear, then changing the entire system is like trying to fit a square block into a circular hole. If you start from the beginning, you'll see the beauty of the system and how incredibly clever it all is.

I started from the beginning and I lost my soul points so I had one soul point.. It takes forever to get them back :I

So I literally gave up with my low-leveled and went with my mage into Gavel~

These people are so rude! The update was near flawless in my opinion! They should start from level 1 and go through. Then they will see how ood it is. I can't believe that guy said LMAO to them losing their money. What heartless fools

I like how the people who didn't listen to Salted and Grian when they said to start a new class are now the ones complaining about the update.

Wow nice job having a fair discussion here!

Ok seriously though, I've restarted my class (created a new archer currently coming up on level 20 with it) and I'm still not impressed.

The item system is confusing and weird, theres so many stats I honestly get bored reading them. I've found serveral items which and legendary anf even though theyre great items I can't use them because some genuis had the idea of skill point requirements.

The elements seem pointless to say the least, I've changed my build several times now and noticed almost no difference between it.

Having to ID every item is find is odd and unnecessary as it doesn't add anything to the game and just seems like a waate of time. I want to see what I just picked up and decide on the spot if its good for me, not have to run to the nearest city and ID it.

The resource pack is a bit to cartoony for me and I don't really love the models for the weapons, but I'll for gove that since I don't notice it a ton while I'm playing.

This may sound over used but the bugs are really annoying, I'm aware they'll be fixed in time but I can't help but think a longer beta would have gotten rid of ton of these probelms.

I'm not writing all this so you feel bad about liking the update, I'm not even doing it to make you think it's bad, I understand you like this update, and I understand why, but some of us don't like it because we didn't want this to be Wynn. We liked nice casual Wynn with no difficulty deciding whats better or worse. We liked not having to ID everything we find or find an item we can use due to skill point problems.

I'm fine with you liking this, but you need to understand some of us don't like it and have valid reasons as to why. We shouldn't just dismiss the other sides opinion just because it doesn't agree with what we say. We're allowed to have thought and make our of opinions. We should be trying to find a solution for some of these problems so EVERYONE can be happy playing Wynn. (And beleive it or not more than just 10-15% of us are upset of this, just look at the forums, responses are mixed at best.)

^ This is not what we need to do.

Yes, actually, it is. There is a consensus of opinion here, all of which is that people who are complaining aren't even giving a fair shake to the update.

My reply to everything that you said, and I did read all of it, is here, in an earlier post that I made.

I don't even know why they're here if they just came here to hate on the update. These people are trying to find and grab onto the tiniest error the maul the cr*p out of it. And their ends aren't usually that good.
Just ignore them. They will eventually shut up and quit complaining.

It's a good update, but I think it's a little overwhelming for us players who have gotten to known the current systems well.
After playing for 2 years, such a large change takes a lot of getting used to, and feels very uncomfortable at first.

I personally love the update, the one thing that I absolutely hate about the update is the recourse pack. I am forced to not use it or else I get 0 fps. I'd rather shoot flint with a slab than get 0 fps and not be able to play. They should've just stuck to something simple and got rid of the 3d models and fancy animations (I do think they're cool but they're just too much). I also find the item system confusing and don't really like how you have to id everything just to see if you might want to use it or not.

Personally, I think people just don't like change. Just look at any time Facebook or YouTube changes their layouts. The internet is up in a frenzy. I think the update is great. Is it perfect? No, not by any means, but still a good update for the server.

I love the new quests, they have so much more depth to them. I love how the game was expanded by more than double with a raised level cap. And I actually like the whole identify once and it being a surprise what you get.

People focus on a negative or two and not look at the big picture. If you don't like a feature or two, that's fine, but don't let it be the end-all-be-all of the quality of the update. All this stuff is new: the elements, the identifying, the stat changes, weapon speeds, resource pack, etc. We just need to grow accustom to it. Watch, within a month, no one is really going to care anymore. Again, just like Facebook and YouTube.

This is a very bad way of dealing with differing opinions. People who complain should not be listened to if they are acting foolish or unnecessarily disrespectful. If they are complaining reasonably, if they don't pester everyone as much as they can, if they are adding suggestions on how to improve the situation, and if they are open to change and criticism by all means they should be listened to.

I completely understand you. You have every right to have this opinion. My problem is that most complainers barely give the system a chance, unlike you, to some how make it work for them, and this negativity sort of rubs into some people.

Sorry. I appreciate the work that's been done, I really do. However, the skill point req's for gear really don't make sense. I started from scratch and made it to lvl 35, and I find the same issues with incompatible gear as I do with my existing lvl 60-something archer. Items that are optimal for my build simply aren't accessible, and getting items that aren't horribly underleveled becomes an immense grinding project. I love elements and extra stats, but the skill point "builds" end up with me investing stupid amounts of emeralds in reset scrolls every couple levels.

mothwolf, I don't know if you the post that I linked to, or not, however, I'm willing to bet that Jaguar11891 is correct. And correct for exactly the reasons that I laid out in my post. It's so different and new, and so many people were not expecting such a big change, even though they were warned, that they still want the old mechanics. Those mechanics are gone, but updates are rolling out fast, with changes that are being asked for by the player base. Come back in a month, and let's see how you feel then. I really, really hope that your opinion has changed for the better and that you find the Gavel update to be as much fun to play as I do, at this point, with my warrior at Lv20.
