Potential Resource Pack Error?

I'm looking at the map, and I know how much Grian obsesses over making the logs in his trees and houses 6 sided. But in the new map the logs aren't 6 six-sided. This bothers me.

For people who don't know what "simple words" are,

he says the logs are normal minecraft vanilla, where the top and bottom/sides are uncovered. Think of it like wrapping a red box's sides with blue. The sides are blue, but the top and bottom are red.

The Map-Renderer ignores it. They will be 6-sided ;D

 

I would imagine that they are all six sided, but the map just doesn't display the logs like that.

 

They are indeed six-sided. The program used to generate this map, called Overviewer, doesn't know about six-sided logs. Not even a resource pack can fix that, since it ignores block models.
