Stars N'stuff

This may be a noob question but honestly someone has to ask, why do some people have stars next to there Guild but not others? for example (name)**UPS.
people told me the obvious answer it is the rank in the Guild but some of my friends or Guild members have a rank in there guild but no stars indicating that they are that certain rank... I am the leader of the guild UPS (level 50 plus can join message me) but I do not have four stars beside my name-(****) in fact i have zero!
PLEASE TELL ME

Are you talking about in the regular chat? Like ***Fuq? I think that's either guild Level or Player count

 

The stars are how hight he guild level is.. for example if it is *HHU it means it's over level 30 if it's **HHU then it's over 40 and so on..

Correct me if I'm wrong..
