But... Do GM's need to know how to code? Because I kinda stopped applying because someone told me they did...

The files we use are fairly fill-in-the-blanks. To be honest it's not that hard to learn how to do it, the hard part is bugfixing them. The job is mostly design, why do you think apps don't ask you to make a file? (To be honest, I don't see why people put YMLs on their apps at all, it doesn't boost your chances, it just makes it harder to read)

Without builders building buildings and grounds, the game masters would have no place to place their ideas, and without game masters, builders' buildings and grounds would just be there, without any purpose. @~)~~~~

 

Quests... and mobs... and now items with the new system all use YML. So you could say it involves "coding" but it's so basic that you really don't need anyone to teach you.

Wow. Just goes to show you can't take people too literally. Especially when they're a Builder telling you what a GM does... Kind of dumb on my part, but I figured that someone who works with someone everyday would know a bit about what they do.

 

Great description Tantibus / sc! For the longest time I honestly wasn't 100% sure of what GMs did aside from placing mobs and making quests :P

 

To be fair, they don't have access to the github so they have no idea what our files look like.

Like an onion... Is it hard to find specific things? Or do you have some magic GM google?
