Lore/Story O Gavel! O Gavel! (poem Parody)

O Gavel! O Gavel! The waiting's nearly done;
The players are long tired, the province we sought is won;
The door is near, the boats I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the forum posts, the staff surreptitiously building:

But O heart! heart! heart!
O the ignorance of the crew,
The province of Wynn will die,
and the corruption will start spreading too.

O Gavel! O Gavel!
Rise up and hear the cheers;
Rise up-for you the flag is flung-for you the players wait;
For you bouquets and ribbon'd wreaths-for you the shores a-crowding;
For you they call, the wynncraftians, their eager faces turning;

Here Wynn! dear homeland!
The players with utter dread;
It is some dream that the corruption,
has again started to spread.

The villagers do not answer, they don't join us to pray;
My province has no heroes left, none left to save the day;
Wynn is no longer safe and sound, its story already done;
From the undead, the players head to the only province worth visiting;

Exult, O shores, and ring, O bells!
But I, with mournful dread,
Walk the province devoid of players,
Now belonging to the undead.

Whoever guesses the metaphor right (no, it's not the same metaphor as O Captain! My Captain!, it's a different one) gets absolutely nothing except being quoted under this message! \/ \/ \/
