What's The Point Of These "quest Translations"?

All of the sudden, out of nowhere, 15 threads pop up about "quest translations". I don't get it. Is there a reason for these quest translations, like seriously? Everyone I've seen in Wynn uses English. So what's the point of it if 99.999% of Wynn's community already uses English? I don't get why we need it then. Did the owners ask for translations?


So please tell me the point of 90% of today's Wynncraft section threads have to do with "translating quests".

Well, it's mainly because "some" players are big living potatoes with English and are not very handy with it.

 

Have you ever considered if maybe, there's someone out there wanting to play Wynn but cannot as they do not speak English? Yea, even if 99.999% of the community speak English, what about that remaining 0.001%? What shall they do?

I can see why you think like that, but relax, it's not like we're planning an invasion of these threads, ranging from every single dialect in the world...

NOTE: Wynn doesn't have more than 10,000 players, therefore it is impossible to separate 0.001% from 99.999%, as if we try doing it, it'd just be a fraction of a person.

The threads get really annoying, seeing as it's clogged up the Wynncraft section, and it's no longer fun.

These threads were never meant to be fun. They were meant for people who needed a translation of the quests into their language.
Also, you're forgetting something here. You're saying that the hard work of the people are not worth anything at all, and are basically shitposts. I can disagree with you on that, as a lot of effort were put into these threads. As I said, there's always that 1%. But I respect your opinion.

And the people who make those threads just want to help that 0.001%.

 

Maybe because everyone on the earth doesn't speak fluent English, and we have a wide and varied community of many different nationalities? Having translated quests will help widen the community seeing as a lot of non-english speakers may be turned away because they can't understand what the quests want. If you don't want the Wynncraft section being filled with "Translation for all the quests: [Language]" maybe you could make a suggestion for another section for them?

Also, you may have seen everyone in Wynn using English, but that doesn't mean it's their native language, nor that they have an easy time using it. Not all of the people who use "You're / Your" in the wrong places, or have bad spelling are 7 Year olds.

 

Why do people do it? To be nice for those who don't know English. Yes a majority of these Wynncrafters use English, but what about for the ones that don't? They are making it so the quests are user friendly for others too- also they are generally being the awesome community as always.

Well everybody said everything, we want to make playing easier for non English speaking players and increase the player base.
Also we are currently translating to 17 languages and have 40 members total in all of the teams.

 

99.9% is not english We, people in wynncraft don´t speak english only. I´ve ran into some annoying polish people who I don´t even understand. Does this show you why these awesome people take time to translate quests? If you still don´t understand then keep reading. Tell me, does everyone in the world speak english? Well that´s an obvious one. Another question, does everyone in WYNNCRAFT speak english? NO This is why they are doing it! To HELP people who are crummy are english and the other people who speak spanish or polish or whatever the shit language they speak. They are helping the community! If you still don´t understand then you got a problem son.

Thouse people wouldent even be in the forums. If they don't know English, why would they be here. I've seen 1 Chinese thread but besides that I've seen no one else that types in only 1 other language besides english

 

My response to this would be same as everyone above me, so:

I really just don't understand why you're mad at people that are doing a favor to that other small percent of the community, Oryx. That makes no sense.

 

1/10,000 players has another language? Why do we have 25 threads for translations then?

 

Because, certainly the translations could be moved to Wynncraft itself by using some sort of option. Ever thought of that?

 

Our nice friend @Acer made a program so we could make a language selection option and implement all the translations in game.

We only have 17 languages atm.
