Purpose Of Gavel Testers

So, recently the twitter account for wynncraft tweeted out, "In about a week we will get Gavel beta testers."
Obviously their objective is to play through Gavel and give an opinion based on what they liked about it and report bugs that they find. Now this may sound stupid, but should the testers be attempting to try to purposely try to make bugs in Gavel so they can be reported and fixed? I feel like the beta testers should try to do that but I just want to make sure so no one gets in trouble.

 

Testing is just trying to break the server as best they can, and see whether the code holds.
These Testers will both play through Gavel like most players, aka do quests and such, while also trying to break them, to try and find bugs.

The best outcome is for the Testers to do EVERYTHING any player could ever do, and see which of these things break, and our goal is to fix these things so none of them do. This obviously is very hard, since finding all the things possible to try and break something is not easy.

 

back in the 1.12 beta, abusing bugs and breaking the game was encouraged among all the players that took part. The Admins and GM's needs to know where the code breaks so they can fix it, and the builders need to know how players manage to escape the map, or disrupt the experience by entering areas they shouldn't be in.

Alpha stage is when the team of development is still testing. It becomes Beta once it reaches the public.
We are at Alpha now, but will be in Beta shortly.

 

Really? Well, when I get picked as tester, I will trying to do my best to do this.

 

ok i wasn't sure, on the build server, some people were talking about alpha testing so i wasn't quite sure (I'm a new builder that's how i know this, just thought i'd let you know)

That's the one thing you don't say when you want to be a tester .-.

 

One-Eye is right. Grian stated its players like @PillowPet (completely out of context) who will be selected for the test. If you say 'when I get picked' that makes your chances of getting selected next to none. I am not saying you won't get chosen, but the chances are incredibly low.

Oh god. I know someone who pretty much attracts glitches. However, he is almost never on XD.

 

I'm the best at glitching games. I went into DLC areas all the time in Destiny, I glitched through the dang wall in more recent Pokemon games, and I search every nook and cranny for secrets. But for it to become a job... no! Its a hobby, damnit!
