Someone Hewlp Meh!!

So... I've been using Windows for literally as i got old enough to get interested in computers... And a couple of days ago my dad bought me a brand new MacBook Pro. I tried figuring out how to do stuff but i ended up asking my mom how to copy-paste... Anyways, after i got rid of the school projects i decided to download MC. I successfully installed MC, and OptiFine. And then i tried installing Shaders because i was a super fan of shaders and photography. When i tried installing Forge. SUCCESS! Shaders. LAUNCHER BECAME BRAND NEW AND STUFF IN FILES AFFECTED NOTHING! So yeah. got really confused but i also don't wanna accidentally download random useless crap. So yeah. If you're a Mac user please give me accurate steps on how to download shaders. Thanks Guys!

 

Absolutely none of the above answers were helpful (Well, Hardy's was okay), so I'll tell you.
@TrystanX, I'd suggest going safe and not getting the mod at all. Instead, go to technicpack.net and download the launcher. It is a modpack launcher and is much easier to use than mods. Then find The Simple Pack 1.8 and install that to the launcher. It has the Shaders mod along with a few other helpful things and comes with a few shaders already installed in it.
