Thoughts About Bob's Mythic Weapons.

I've seen a lot of claims that Bob's Mythics will drop in value faster than a brick in a vacuum when Gavel comes out. I've been wondering why anyone would think this. Now, I've got no inside information here, but there are a few things that come to mind when I'm struck by comments about Bob's Mythics not being as desirable as they were a few months ago. I've been trying to keep track of some of the hints and clues about Mythic weapons, but I may have missed something. So, here's what I'm considering, from what I remember hearing or reading about, so far:

1) We know that Gavel starts at level 40,
2) We know that the level cap is going up to 100 in Gavel,
3) We know that we will be able to reset our classes to start all over,
4) We also know that Salted said that he could not walk across Gavel, even in invincible mode,
5) Look at the damage values of Bob's Mythic's, they are in the Lv 90 - 95 range, as @Shtafjord has pointed out,
6) We have another post, where Shtaf has said that it was probably a troll who said that Mythics would be eclipsed by the next level weapon.

Given what Salted said, why would anyone think that they could just waltz in to Gavel, waltz to a Level 76 area, and grab a Level 76 weapon that would be more powerful than a Mythic? Mythics are in the LV 90-95 power range, not level 75 range. We are going to need to get to areas that have mobs in the Lv 90+ range in order to get to the same power range as Bob's Mythics, won't we? Will that be a simple walk in the park? Not from what Salted said. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't believe that it's going to be a snap of the fingers to get better weapons than Bob's Mythics. I think it's going to be a long while after Gavel comes out before anyone gets any weapon that is more powerful, and has as many IDs, as Bob's Mythics. The next level of weapons may not be able to hold as many identifications as Mythics do, until, maybe, we get to Lv 100 weapons. I'm not in any hurry to get rid of my Mythics, right now. Maybe, after I waltz into Gavel, and waltz in to where Salted couldn't get to, I'll change my mind. Until then, I'll just keep holding on to my Mythic weapons.

 

true there is no reason to throw away mythics until we have hard proof that there is a better weapon

 

Even knowing that there are better weapons, and I really believe that there will be, I think that it's going to be a long time before anyone gets them or can use them.

 

well the mythic wand is in the range of 90 so theres no doubt that theres gonna be a better weapon. who knows maybe we get to fight bob again and get a new form of mythic. yeah and getting them will not be a walk in the park otherwise gavel was a waste

 

Let's just take a moment to think about how long it takes to get from level 50 to level 75. Thought about it? Now think about level 70 to level 75, and how long that takes. Got it? Good. Now, let's imagine how long it would take to say, get from level 75 to level 100, knowing how long it takes to get from 70-75, and how the amount of experience needed increases, as well as the time it takes to gain experience each level. Got that? Now, I know this is a lot of imagination work but bear with me, imagine you find a weapon, a very powerful weapon for Level 100. Let's just think how long it will take to get from level 75 to level 100 again shall we? Considering the massive amount of time you'll need to take, your Level 90-95 Power Bob's Mythic Weapon doesn't seem so bad now eh? Especially since you're getting a 15-20 Level discount. Don't be in a hurry to sell your Mythic because there's a more powerful weapon at 100, because that weapon is a long, long way away.

 

when did i say the stuff about level 90-95 range?
and grian pointed out that your endgame (aka mythic and armor) will be very usefull in gavel, aka will be used alot

We know almost nothing about the revamps items, so who can you say if Mythics will always be as powerful as today ? Between, you're right, it would be so stupid to throw these weapons away...

I can trust that Mythic weapons will remain very powerful, but I do think that there must be at least one or two better weapons.

I agree. I think there will be, but I also believe that we will need to be much closer to LV 100 before we start to see them.

They're probably gonna get nerfed since a level 75 weapon shouldn't be as good as a level 90-95 weapon

 

I said it's around the Lv 90-95 range a fairly long while ago; I think before the Gavel level cap was confirmed to be 100. That's because, looking at the stats now, they're all about 70-80% stronger than the Lv 70 legendary weapons on average, and for other weapons to manage that takes a fairly long while. Admittedly the number averages I took, although trying to follow a curve, were arbitrary, but it ended up setting the Mythics just about equal to what I found to be Lv 90-95 unique weapons in strength.

As for how it will be in Gavel? Can't say I know that. But, I can say this: I feel like mythics are certainly going to retain their value well into Gavel, just going off of their current strength alone. I mean, after all the trouble to get them, wouldn't it be a rip to just have it be a Lv 75 legendary in strength and throw it away 7 levels later?

 

Same with me, I'm holding on to my mythics too! ;3

 

That is what is very striking to me. I would be seriously surprised if the GMs and admins were to basically discount the effort that it took to obtain those weapons, and the current fact that those weapons are not replaceable by going back and getting a second CT with the same class. I know that it's possible to discount the effort that was put into obtaining them, however, I just don't see that happening. I can more readily envision a permanent exchange system to drastically upgrade them so that they maintain their current value in game, and I'm not talking about value in LE, I mean value as weapons.

 

The only thing I'm scared about is that the staff can't transfer the IDs for all the items and every item will lose their IDs.
