In the News (and Serious) Isil Is Weak

If you don't know what Daesh is, it's better that you don't. There's a lot of talk about the Paris attacks that started on the 13th of November, some say ISIS is responsible, I've never taken the time to research who's responsible for them, but it's not that I primarily want to talk about. I want to mainly talk about this video of The Project and Waleed Aly talking about how Daesh's weak.(Waleed does all the talking)

The video shows Waleed Aly talking about the Paris attacks, the refugees, and most importantly...he talks about Daeshs real goal from all these attacks. Please watch the video first, then click the spoiler.

Daesh claims they have caused those attacks, but the people who did them are self-recruited, they essentially volunteered the commit crimes. If we had just accepted all these refugees, from Syrian and/to Muslim, I don't believe that Daesh would be as feared as they are now(After I watched the video). If we continue to hate on Muslims and what they believe in, we will never defeat Daesh, rather they will defeat us by using propaganda to keep us from being a grey society, Daesh wants us to be a Black and White society, which will become a war, Daesh being black will control the Muslims that we chose to deny(No intended racism here). They are already turning us against each other, are you posting tweets or posts about how bad Muslims are? Well you should stop. I'm not repeating everything from the video.

So what do you do? Well The Project, more specifically Waleed, is telling us that Daesh relies on our hate against Muslims, that translates(to me) that we should stop hurting Muslims and we should embrace them instead. Well you might say the perfect answer is to bomb Daesh more and send more troops, well Obama already did that, look at what Daesh has become now, they've taken all the weapons left behind by the US army. The best thing to do in my opinion is to not mention Daesh, accept all Muslim refugees illegal and legal as a high priority and to help Muslims in general, not bomb them.

Bombing could be a deterrence? I don't believe so, remember I said that you guys have already bombed Daesh? Well how come they aren't a history lesson?

Nuclear Warfare? Do you even know what would happen if one country said they wanted to nuke another country to rid of the countries parasites? The country being nuked wouldn't be pleased and will try their best to deny that, if the US(Which is probably the first to suggest to nuke Daesh) doesn't care, nuclear war may happen, or nothing at all....Daesh's not stupid, lets not be stupid too.

First, are you talking about ISIS or ISIL?

As for my opinion- Nuclear arms are a no-no. We saw how that turned out in WWII- We may eliminate a terrorist threat, but by killing hundreds, perhaps thousands of innocents as well- Especially as the US has not officially declared themselves in a state of war since 1941, we´re no better than them ourselves. (And I am in NO WAY saying that declaring war gives grounds for collateral damage- Then we´d be assholes.)

 

For quite a while, I thought ISIS and ISIL were the same, now I know they are in 2 different locations. I guess lets simplify to using Daesh instead of ISIL and ISIS.

 

Welp... looks like Michael Mangual was right about Daesh. They'll probably become the Holy Islamic Empire like they did in Michael's "Shattered Citadel".
Shattered Citadel is actually a great story about WWIII and beyond, but mostly WW3 in general. It's basically his interpretation of the future.

Take them down online. Bombing only gets so far, but without resources (social media for recruiting) they cannot gain anymore members from around the world, and then we bomb them, hopefully wiping them out completely. I also think that Anonymous is doing the US's job as they are taking down social media accounts and actually doing something about it.

 

The islamic state of Iraq and Sham/daesh is deeply enbeded into areas and if we bomb them they will be subdued for a short amount of time but eventually they will come back and it would just be a waste of time. The only long term solution would either to put police everywhere or wait them out till' they die from lack of funding. Lets face it, we dont have the resources to put police everywhere and if we wait Daesh out it would take years. Because of this I belive there is no good solution to Daesh/ISIS.

 

I do think defeating ISIS immediately is the thing to do, though, Nuclear arms?

I know its just what some people think, but nuclear weapons just sound ridiculous. A nuclear weapon can clear out ALL of the population in the area, meaning it would also kill the people who aren't even apart of ISIS/Some other terrorist group. It sounds like getting mad at someone for bullying, but also getting at the person being bullied.
Just my opinion though- keep moving on.

Pretty sure Russia will be the first to suggest repeated bombing of Daesh and potential Nuclear strike.

Not trying to be offensive to Russians though.

I think accepting refugees is an ok idea. I also think that bombing Daesh is an ok idea as well.
