Long ago, in a distant land, a powerful warrior known as Bob was born.
He has quite a destiny ahead of....no.
You know what....
SCREW IT.
Instead of a story that every person on the forums have heard, here is a new story, because i say so XD.
Are we good?
Good.
This is a story about a man who's name has been lost to time, but for the sake of this story, we shall call him GM.
Like most players, GM was a warrior who lived in the province of Wynn, known to have fought in many great battles, before he retired a while back and never looked back.
However, he was also known to be a bit boastful, saying he could defeat the corruption with 1 hand behind his back.
He was also known to possess a massive amount of money, which he kept in the infamous VIP Town.
The town was known to be only accessible to the "high rollers" of Wynn, where the most wealthy villagers and players stayed.
GM was a mainstay of the place, until one day, everything began to fall apart.
That was the day the corruption attacked.
It started out as normal.
GM was practicing out in the field, when he saw a large army of corrupted nearby.
He decided not to engage, since there was no reason to start such a fight, he could get hurt.
Then he saw the leader of this army, THE CORRUPTER OF WORLDS, and how his army was heading to the VIP Town.
He realized he could lost everything he had saved up!
He rode his horse as fast as he could to the village and saw the villagers taking their emeralds and fleeing.
Running to the bank, he grabbed his emeralds and....hesitated.
He realized that there was no way that all the villagers would be able to evacuate.
And even if he left, if he decided to leave and keep his emeralds, that he could never live with himself.
He knew what he had to do.
After telling the villagers to summon reinforcements from Nemract, he ran back to his horse and got on, riding toward the army of the corrupted!!!
Firing his bow at the corrupted, he jumped off his chestnut stallion and ordered it to run, so it would not perish.
The horse looked sad, but complied with the request and ran to safety.
GM got his sword and daggers out, and charged into the army, cutting down as many corrupted as he could.
He cut down zombies, skeletons, and other monsters.
One of the zombies hit him hard near the kidney, and a skeleton shot a arrow at him, cutting his cheek and drawing blood.
GM felt the pain they caused.
The corrupted closed in, and....stopped.
The army of the corrupted moved aside, and the Corrupter of Worlds walked toward GM.
GM readied his weapons, but then...
The Corrupter SPOKE.
With a voice that sounded like a combination of scraping metal plates and painful groans, the legendary monster spoke.
"Normally, i say silent and let the corrupted wipe you heroes out, but i am curious"
"Why do you fight for those that have nothing but greed in their hearts, those that value emeralds than the lives of others, and the defense of their own home."
GM hesitated, then gave his answer.
"I fight because i know that you would never stop at one single town, that you would attempt to extinguish life across the province, and destroy the hope that lies in people's hearts."
"As long as you fight to destroy, the warriors and villagers of Wynn shall stop you."
The Corrupted of Worlds was amused by this, then spoke once more.
"Even if i shall be defeated, unlikely as that is, you shall not live to witness it"
Then, GM and the Corrupter of Worlds charged at each other, ready to fight to the end.
Their powerful weapons clashed, each brimming with magical power.
But the fight would not last long.
The Corrupter of Worlds knocked GM back, and then impaled him in the side of the chest!
GM coughed and gagged in extreme pain, as the corrupted asked him,
"How does it feel to finally die?"
GM gave a smile in return.
"It's not death, its SACRIFICE!"
As GM thrust his spear into the eye of the Corrupter of Worlds, the monster screamed in agony and let him go.
In anger and pain, the Corrupted screamed at GM.
"KILL HIM!!!"
GM ran back to the VIP Town with the Corrupted Army in pursuit, preparing to use his magicial energy for one last attack.
He used a spell forgotten to time, and used his magical enemy to create a sphere of pure energy around him.
He breathed heavily, as his body continued to weaken from his wounds.
Once the spell was ready, as the corrupted rushed him, ready to tear him apart, he spoke one final time, heard by a few who heard him in the distance.
"I shall make this end memorable", and he unleashed all of his magical energy in a massive explosion that was said to have been seen from Deltas!!!
The VIP Town's walls were vaporized, as the energy struck the corrupted, vaporizing them.
When the dust settled, The Corrupter of Worlds saw that almost eighty percent of his army was GONE!
As he ran toward the village to finally kill GM, he saw the approaching army that GM had asked for.
A army of warriors, 10,000 strong!
In extreme hatred and agony, the Corrupted screamed with raw power and hate in his voice, and ordered his army to return to the Nether.
While most of the warriors celebrated the retreat of the corrupted army, a few of them went into the remains of the VIP town, and found GM's body, lying in the abandoned bank, with a peaceful smile on his face.
From that day forward, GM was known as the legend of the AbandonedBank, named after the place he was found and buried.
While the VIP Town still lies in ruins, the legend of the AbandonedBank is said to live on in a ancestor that is a member of the staff.
The hope that the legend inspired is still seen in the villagers today.
Hopefully, some day, we can all spread that hope to Gavel, and the places where hope has become devoid.
This writer looks forward to that day.
