Let's Get Real Nitpicky About Servers And The Eula

As all of you know (I hope), last year on August 1st the EULA was updated. It no longer allows any advantage you pay for at all. Well, actually, the older EULA banned any monetary gain whatsoever, but it wasn't enforced. Because of this, servers have changed their plugins in an attempt to remove any advantage gained through money.

So, how about we go full out nitpicky! Post some incredibly tiny advantages you gain through EULA. The tiniest advantages you can think of. If there's two different advantages you can think of, select the absolute tiniest you can think of.

Before we start, I'd like to remind you to avoid posting server IPs, as that woud be classified as advertising. Keep this in mind when posting pictures.

I'll start out with Hypickle.

Housing was recently released in Hypickle. If you are a premium member, you can set music to play when players visit your house. Music improves the experience, and generally people will think higher of you when you provide them with a superior experience. If people think higher of you, they have an ever so slightly larger chance of taking note of your name compared to other members. They may remember your name for a few minutes. If then both you and the person who remembered your name join skywars or some other game in the exact same game in spawns right next to eachother, that specific member may have very slight changes to their playstyle and will subconsciously attempt to avoid killing you for a little longer than if he didn't take note of your name.
All in all, if you pay for premium, you can put music in your house, and you will gain a 0.00002% advantage in games you play.

I see where you're coming from with this. But honestly, people knowing who you are doesn't give you any advantage in the actual 'game' aspect of any server or game. For example, having your pet wither in Detlas will attract a lot of attention to you but the wither won't help you out in battle. Buying cosmetics isn't a direct advantage, although, (if it was possible) buying weapons or extra skill points etc. would be a direct advantage to any player who buys them.

Assassin requires 60 total levels, however, if you bought VIP+, you won't have to get 60 levels to use Ninja! OUTRAGEOUS!

We're all overlooking the fact that premium members get special colored names and tags. (And in the case of Hypixel, no gray, hard-to-see chat words, as if what premium people say is more important ;-;)

 

Hypixel and Mineplex both have currency rewards for specific donor tiers, which gives them extra gems for some game advantages, such as classes or guns or whatever the hell Hypixel has. DIS TIME WE GOT COPS ON THE CRIMS.

 

I know a server which you can make weapons cause fireworks when striking people.
Having a dazzling display of fireworks each time you land a blow seems cosmetic, but if you hit something enough you can actually blind them with all the pretty colours.

 

AFAIK Hypixel Credits are only used for weapon re-skins and Coins are used for lobby cosmetics only.

 

Yeah, I didn't know that. I don't play Hypixel too much.

 

Hypixel Warlords weapon reskins offer an unfair advantage since you can reskin your Legendary into a Common and trick all the noobs into thinking that you're weak.

 

But in the process, it makes your weapon look ugly.

Balanced

 

Hypixel gives unfair adventages to people who became ranked before the EULA.

My friend has MVP+ and he gets 5 times more coins because he got the rank before the EULA.

So fair.

I guess you could call it unfair, but I guess Hypixel didn't want people to feel like they wasted money on a rank that got nerfed, so they had people who bought the rank before EULA keep the coin bonuses.

 

Oh boy, here goes.

WYNNCRAFT

• VIP's and VIP+'s get extra storage space, as you can use the extra classes as inventory space for your stuff.
  
• You can use assassin even if you don't have 60 levels (Ninja). [VIP+]
• ...?

HYPIXEL

• 4 and 5 star mystery boxes can only be opened by donators, and give better rewards than the Tier 1 - 3's, which are openable by normal players. Things like rare blocks for housing will become more easily accessible, giving an advantage.
• Extra Hypixel credits are given to people who donate. They can use this for things such as Double Fortune on Skywars. Granted, this gives it to everyone in the lobby as well, but its a feature that impacts gameplay, and because of extra credits that are earned, donators can use them to their advantage.

PRETTY MUCH ALL FACTION SERVERS

• ...I don't even need to explain this one, do I?

 

Well technically the higher tier mystery boxes don't give better rewards, they give a better chance of finding good rewards. Also everything in the mystery boxes is cosmetic, so it's EULA-approved.

 

Also the fact that 5 star mystery boxes are only open-able to MVP+'s I believe. Maybe also MVP Idk ;-; Like I'm a VIP on Hypixel and I can't open 4 star boxes.

 

Aight, lemme make this short and simple.

In Hypixel, donors can get hats in certain game types, and those specific hats give no advantage whatsoever.

Us non-donors can't. DAS BULLSHET!!!1!!!!!!i!1!

 

On MeinCraft Central Creative, donators can use redstone on their plots. It makes your plot more impressive.
On Wynncraft, donators can stack and be given a ride to dangerous places.
On any factions server, you get a ton of free gear.

 

Wynncraft, using an xp bomb increases your xp slightly more than other players, say that you participate in 5 xp bombs a week, if you buy one it's gonna be 6.


The only way i can see xp and item bombs being 100% clear of eula is if they gave every single player no matter online or offline same amount of xp and items. - I might be wrong on this because I only thought about it for a minute though, some math god is allowed to jump in and correct me.



Now that I think about it, this eula changed so many things for the better (for players I mean!), you can't pay for any advantage and servers no longer have super OP kits for 5000$ in pvp servers. But try thinking about other mmorpgs in general, 99% of them are full of pay to win, see archeage for example, only the highest payers can have the best gear, they dominate pvp and if you don't want to pay, well, just accept being dominated like a good uke.


Then there are other games where you can't have fun at all unless you pay, and then we have wynncraft, where you can pay only for cosmetics (and storage space lol). We really have it too good. The only reason I can't thank mojang is because they only forbid pay to win because they don't want servers earning money, as if working to keep a server filled with content, moderate it and advertise deserves no money at all..

 

I've got a few more.

• VIP's and VIP+'s can get extra corrupted treasure and LE from quests. (I've got a suggestion to fix it! ;D)
• You can buy item bombs on an alternate account and use them for yourself.
• Riding someone can help them glitch into normally unreachable quest areas.
• Disguises make it harder for people to hit you in PVP.

In reality, the 1.12 update didn't eliminate all EULA violations. It just changed the area of violation.
