Are They Going To Nerf Assassin?

In the last portion I was talking about PVE for the Assassin in relation to the Archer. The Assassin still has to get close and take a few hits before killing an enemy. You're practically forced to put at least half of your stat points all in DEF because if you don't you can't even get close to any of the mobs in the game. What the assassin has in attack it lacks in defense. The assassin has a good amount of Cons to counter its Pros just like the other classes. What exactly is broken about the assassin..? I never actually heard what was. I just observed the Assassin in-game and compared it to the other classes. Perhaps I'm missing something..?

With 8 STR points using bob's mythic shears the damage caps out at about 3700 using multihit going off of the basis that it apparently does "2000%" damage. Is that not supposed to happen? Going off of 200% damage using bob's mythic shears the damage caps out at about 370 per usage of multihit. I'm just going off of the damage of the multihit in the stats menu and the apparently 200% and 2000% damages. In the menu the damage of multihit shows a max of 185 damage. So I just used the percentage multipliers provided by the community to estimate the damage payout.

Also, if it's been broken, how come they haven't released a small patch/update for it? Why wait for Gavel if it's broken and such a big issue apparently? Just a bit curious.

You should know that the damage shown in the compass is firstly, far less than it actually is for every class. Secondly, the multihit value in there is for a SINGLE hit, so multiply that by 10 and add the left click damage.

Plus, you can vanish up to an enemy and either A: oneshot it if it isn't a boss or B: multihit it far away, and vanish when the multihit ends. I maxed out assassin after I finished archer and I have to say it's superbly broken, and easy to play/win

You are missing something; Assassin is supposed to get no bonuses or debuffs from armor, like the Mage, but both of those are glitched and they have 15% more and 15% less, respectively, defense from armor. Warrior has 120%, Assassin has 115%, Mage 85%, and Archer 80%. In addition, Vanish.
You calculated that wrong anyhow; the mythic Daggers, on average, deal 405 damage. Given the amount of damage that Multihits is SUPPOSED TO deal, which is 350%, that means Multihits should deal about 1420 damage; 101 hits that deal ~101 damage and a final hit dealing the full 405.

Looking at my assassin's stats, my daggers deal about 750 damage per hit. I have 70 dexterity, so I'm more often than not doubling these amounts but let's discount that for now. 750*350% = 2625 damage on average. However, in practice, I'm dealing about 30000-35000 damage per Multihits(average 32500)! Taking away a little more than half that because of dexterity, and I'm dealing about 14600 damage per multihits, or 1950% of 750. And, with the strength boost you get from Vanish, that increases to more like 2300%.

For land travel, horses are a thing, and also Lv 3 Vanish is great for travelling around. People tend to forget that you get jump boost II from that, allowing you to jump up two blocks high. It doesn't need high mobility outside of battle, and it's certainly not the Assassin's fault that boats are glitchy. If they worked properly, that wouldn't be a disadvantage. In addition, Vanish is a great defensive spell because you get Resistance III while Vanished, and enemies will completely stop targeting you, and Spin Attack can be used to literally stop enemies in their tracks regardless of that, giving you time to do pretty much anything else. I'd say that works as a defensive ability, so the Assassin actually has two. to the walk up and Multihit versus Bomb Arrow, Meteor, or Uppercut, none of those attacks deal more than 375% damage. Multihits deals about 2000% damage(as I explained above this to Corcustos). and 60 levels of experience is easy to get within a couple hours or so; just bring all three classes to Lv 20.

That appraisal is way off.
Mage: Low Attack, Great Mobility, Mid-range, (glitched)Low Armor, Good Survivability. Geared towards support due to heal and AOE abilities.
Warrior: Middling Attack, Good Mobility, Short-range, High Armor, Great Survivability. Has many high-knockback skills.
Archer: High Attack, Great Mobility, Mid-Long Range, Low Armor, Subpar Survivability. Skills deal little knockback, mostly.
Assassin: High Attack, Good Mobility, Short-range, (glitched)High Armor, Great Survivability. Fights best against close clusters of enemies/singular enemies.

Due to assassin's glitched-higher defense and the fast that horses exist for the sole purpose of land travel, bad mobility outside of battle doesn't affect assassins too much, and in battles Vanish is great for maneuvering, or unleashing a heavy attack to all foes due to the strength boost it gives, or even for healing purposes because of health regen. It has variability at a slight cost of effectiveness, but that cost is only slight. And again, due to their glitched-higher armor and the fact that they focus on dealing many hits, they have great survivability and no trouble engaging enemies.

Wait, you're seriously taking the wiki as a reliable source of info? It hasn't been regularly updated in months, half of that is opinion or a lack of information! Vanish doesn't get rid of effects, Spin Attack does. Force DOES work in the Nether. Jump Boost II while Vanished is just as effective, if not moreso, than using Charge to climb a vertical surface, and long lasting battles? First off, 115% natural defense. Only 5% shy of the TANK'S innate boost. Secondly, Vanish. Everyone forgets about Vanish! Just run off to the other side of the room and wait to heal up! And, the Smoke Bomb thing, while that is correct that it can deal up to 1640% damage, it's not totally true that it's the highest damaging spell in the game due to Multihits dealing the ridiculously boosted amounts that it does. It's advertised to deal 350%, though, so people take it at its word without looking at the reality of the situation. The reason it needs to be unlocked isn't because it takes more skill to play, it's because right now it's overpowered and they know it. The update should rebalance it by a lot, because despite what people say it really is necessary. Seriously; I can kill the Corrupter in less then 20 seconds with the Assassin. That's probably not the best sign, is it? Even if it is geared towards defeating singular opponents, that shouldn't happen.

I see can sort of see where this "overpowered" idea is coming from. Thanks for the clarification. I just went ingame and tested a maxed STR stat and bob's mythic daggers and I wasn't dealing nearly that much damage. I don't know why. I just hope that they find a way to nerf it enough so that it isn't "overpowered" as most people say, but still keep it as a viable option as a class. It needs to have some advantages over the other classes and just as much disadvantages. Each class has their own advantages as of now. Hopefully they can keep that intact.
