I've died 5 times to this dumb quest. I've rebuilt my character to take less damage and I'm still not able to survive.

I'm not doing any damage to the Bandit Leader.

The bombs are too hard to see when there's 10 dudes running around my face.

How do I end this stupid quest?

 

You hit the pressure plates near the TNT to stop them from going off and eventually they'll run out of TNT and leave.

 

Try to stun/slow down the Bandit Leader, and when the bundles of TNT appears, run to the pressure plate and attack the Bandit Leader.
Also, the Bandit Leader is not meant to be killed. You just need to stand at the appearing pressure plates and the boss will retreat and become passive.
After the boss becomes passive, you just kill him and throw the TNT into the hopper that appeared and you can get out.
