(Why would a qualified moderator believe what an abuser says then enact punishment based precisely on unproven words of the abuser? I asked the mod if I should stay off Wynncraft until the month is up, then was banned without an answer. -_-)

Hi! This is Grillifier. Today I received my first ban for 25 days until I can change my username to something more appropriate. Is it still considered ban evasion if I played on an alt until I can fix my main account's username? I am very sorry that my name offended a few folks, and I now regret changing it.

I see people in shout chat saying horrible, CLEARLY inappropriate things and visible sexual references unpunished, yet my username that was questioned and passed by one mod then punished by the next for the technical innuendo it was implying and banned precisely for a number of days that me, as the abuser, told the mod I'd be unable to change my username for?

    I can show you a screenshot of things I JUST heard in shouts while on an alt before realizing I might be ban evading in a way, which led me off the server to double check the rules then post here. My alt's name is Sir_Parker if that account requires punishment aswell for this mistake. I am truly sorry. ;~;

I'm done making questionable usernames. I'm 22. This was childish of me.

What do you mean? I'm fairly sure my ban was justifiable. I'm only asking if it's considered ban evasion in such a special case as this.

Okay so, first off, Im not a mod, im just analyzing the situation, hey good practice for applying law methods.

So you had an inappropriate username if i got it right.

So that's the first break of the rules. Rule 16. Which was your offense right.
    16. No inappropriate usernames, pet names or skins.

Usernames or pet names that contain vulgar or offensive language or innuendos are not allowed. This is true for all languages. Player skins that are offensive or nude are not allowed and must be changed to something appropriate.

So about ban evasion. There's the rule about alt. accounts for that:
    "13. Rules regarding alternate accounts.

Alternate Minecraft accounts are allowed to be used ingame. If one of your accounts breaks a rule they will all receive the same punishment. You are not allowed to participate in a war with alternate accounts.

If you are banned, you are not permitted to use an alternate account to continue to play, as this is ban evasion."

    So is it ban evasion?
Well for ban evasion it requires one thing:
    1. Your main account must have broken a rule (any rule)

You broke rule 16, so this lead to all your accounts, main and alts, getting the same punishment. It doesnt matter if you play on them or not, all of them will be punished. And asking a mod if you should stay off when you've been instructed to change name, gives the idea that you might play on your alt, which should have been given the same punishment, and so instead of putting faith in that you will not ban evade, or evade punishment, both accounts would be banned.

    Answer to the question:
Playing on your alt would be considered ban/punishment evasion if your main has been punished, which is had. And since you broke rule 16, all account should be punished, whether you play on them or not.

    personal addition to this:
If you have screenshots of people shouting inappropriate stuff/breaking the rules, that wouldn't minimize what you do/have done. Multiple people can break the rules and what others do if its worse or not does not affect your offenses of the rules. Additionally if you have proof of such offenses, you should give them to the mods so they can deal with those offenses. Not everyone gets punished because sometimes mods arent on, or sometimes there's not enough evidence for a moderator to justify a punishment, so if you do have proof do a report on the report section.

Thank you for the input. Kind of depressing to know a video game punishment has less technical leniency than real life, but it's on me. I changed my username acknowledging that it could get me in trouble, and therefor I've been justly punished. My apologies. I guess I have to wait to play.
