Poison Questions

i have a contamination with low main dmg but very high poison damage, now what i would do if i was attacking something is shoot it once with the poison crossbow and then switch to my main, but my armors poison cancels it out, so, my question is if its worth it to switch out to armor with out the poison so i can apply contamination's poison and then switch to main, or just only use contamination.

 

If you're going to switch, I highly recommend getting armor without poison, as it will rreset the poison timer when you attack, and you want to keep the high poison damage. I use a very similar tactic to deal damage, and it works especially well on bosses
