Leveling up

I get the same amount of xp when I kill level 80 mobs at the waterfall grind spot than level 50 mobs at the lower herb cave. I'm around lvl 60 right now. Shouldn't I get more XP for killing a lvl 80 mobs?

 

the amount depends on how close they are to your combat level, not how high their level is

 

Each level you are above or under a mob’s level reduces the xp gained by 3.33% (if I recall correctly). So you get 33% less xp from the level 50 mobs, and 67% less xp from the level 80 mobs. You get twice as much of the base xp from the level 50 mobs, so I’d assume that the level 50 mobs have half the base xp, it’s just cancelled out by the xp drop-offs meant to keep you generally active in areas near your level range.
