Horse Speeds

Even on servers with "0% lag", when there are even a few mobs around, horses for me seem to go really slowly (sometimes half as slow as normal), and if there's a lot of mobs around, sometimes the horse even grinds to a standstill, making it faster to just go on foot.

Is there a workaround to this that anyone knows?

(Also, it's not just horses that move slowly too. When my horse slows down drastically, even mobs are moving extremely slowly too)

 

Get a better computer?

Generally, when mobs are moving slowly, that's tic lag though, and server related.

Also, my internet speed is always very decent (Almost always ~20 Mb/s download, ~10 Mb/s upload, and <30 ping), and I don't experience lag with anything else in the server, just when riding my horse.

 

its more than likely just due to the dxp weekend. loads of people are grinding and using mob totems making the servers laggy. also if your playing on 1.10 switch to 1.8 because horses work much better in 1.8

I am indeed using 1.8.9 (originally I was using 1.10 when I first started playing, but even the abilities lagged a lot then, and was fixed upon using 1.8)
