    Okay, is it pronounced Gill-oh-teen or Gee-uh-teen? I personally pronounce it Gill-oh-teen, but everyone else I know pronounces it Gee-uh-teen...

    I pronounced it as Gill-oh-teen before, but recently I've started calling it Gee-uh-teen.

    In Spanish, and probably French, though I'm not sure, double ll's have a "y" sound. Guillotines originated in France, I believe, which is why there is a weird pronunciation.

    according to the oxford dictionary it is pronounced gill-uh-teen (you have to consider accents too)
