SPOILER Confusion Glitch

On the quest "Confusion" I completed the whole thing, killed the Minotaur, got it's head, presented it to Ranol. Ok? So far so good. Then I hand in the head, and the server CRASHES! I log back in, the head is not in my inventory, I talk to Ranol, he tells me I still have to fight the wizard. So of course, I went back, went through everything again, killed the Minotaur, got the key, went in the cabinet... however... since I already opened the cabinet... I didn't get the head back... therefore I can never complete the quest until this issue is fixed.
