It was worded badly. We're fixing AFK builds, not Cactus.

Think of it like this: All squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares. All AFK builds are Cactus-based, but not all Cactus-builds are AFK builds.

What's getting fixed is the bug where Life Steal activates when Thorns/Reflection does, which has caused people to become effectively immortal. However, most Cactus builds don't utilize Life Steal, instead opting for just huge Thorns/Reflection and high defenses or Poison. Cactus builds aren't being nerfed, as AFK builds are a separate "branch" off of the initial Cactus build designed to abuse a glitch which we are fixing in the update. So, when the update rolls around, AFK builds will turn into just plain ol' Cactus, but not even the -good- Cactus.

Rectangle: A 4-sided flat shape with straight sides where all interior angles are right angles (90°). Also opposite sides are parallel and of equal length.
Square: A plane figure with four equal straight sides and four right angles.

The difference being that squares -must- have all sides be equal length where rectangles can have that vary, but a square falls firmly within the definition of a rectangle.

Are thorns/reflection being changed at all? (Other than lifesteal bug). Because nether is very broken.

 

This is a secondary weapon, the poison won't be interrupted if your primary weapon doesn't have poison.

cactus builds are 100% thorns, very high life steal, decent poison

 

no cactus builds are simply builds with high thorns/reflection
than there are typed , for example poison cactuses , unkillable (lifesteal) cactuses and more
but cactus aka when you hit someone you take damage back is just someone with a lot of reflection/thorns

It had max 650 poison and huge life steal, that wand is not good enough to be a cactus wand
