in that case you need to put the fire powder in first, iirc the weapon only uses the first powder for the ability.

and i still think 3 T6 thunders are better, they add a lot more damage because of black being super fast.

To correct you on this, if you have multiple pairs of elemental powders, it only checks for the first one.

Some examples below to show what I mean in detail, this is a bit long 'cause I got carried away lol.

Say you go with Water-Water-Air-Air, it'll choose the first one for the special, in this case the Water one, and go with Curse/Concentration.

It only checks the first instance where 2 powders of the same element with a minimum of Tier 4 are put in, and this first instance is when the powder special is determined.

Say you have 5 powders and go with a combination of Thunder-Fire-Water-Fire-Water, it'll go with the the Fire special and not the Water or Thunder one because the moment there's 2 powders of the same element, it checks for the matching pair's element, which is in that case Fire : Water ends up being another pair on the last slot, but there's a special already assigned to it, so it won't affect anything, and Thunder only has 1 powder put in, so it cannot be the Thunder special

When it comes down to 3 slots, of course there's only 1 pair that can be made, so yeah, there's only a need to check when 2 powders of the same element are put in, the order doesn't matter for the sake of determining the special.

However, there IS a scenario where the order ends up mattering, and that's for neutral damage conversion : can't go over 100 % damage of course, so what ends up happening is some % elemental damage ends up being thrown away when going over 100 % damage.

Say I have 3 slots on a weapon (Manna, for example) and I want to use 2 T6 Earth and 1 T6 Water, If I want more water damage, I'd want to put the water powder in first, otherwise I end up losing on some of it because of the earth powders eating up most of the neutral damage.

Some quick maffs : T6 earth converts 46 % neutral damage to earth damage, and T6 Water converts 32 %. With 3 slots, we can end up with these combinations for 2 earths and 1 water

    Earth = E and Water = W

    E-W-E : The first 2 adds up to 46 % + 32 % = 78 %, so 22 % remaining

    E-E-W : The first 2 adds up to 46 % + 46 % = 92 %, so 8 % remaining !

    W-E-E : The first 2 adds up to 32 % + 46 % = 78 %, so 22 % remaining

If we put the 2 Earth powder first, we only end up with 8 % of the neutral damage being converted to Water, so unless you want to abuse elemental weaknesses you may as well put it all on earth to penetrate elemental defense better and not be cucked by some mobs have even a little water defense.

In the other scenarios, one of the earth powders is put in last, so 32 % of the water damage is converted to water, leaving some 46 % from the first Earth powder, leaving 22 % for whatever you want, let it be convert it to a third element (why would you tho lol) or convert the rest into one of the specials, and since order only matters when checking the moment when 2 powders of the same type are put on a weapon, you could end up with a proportion of either 32% Water-68 % Earth and the earth special, or 54 % Water-46% Earth with the Water special.

If you want a peculiar neutral conversion spread, you gotta factor in the ordering of the powders.

Holy shit that was way longer than I expected.

TL;DR : It only checks for the first elemental pair of powders when considering the special's element, but it does matter when 3+ slots are involved on weapons for the sake of neutral damage conversion.

yeah that's sorta what i meant to say but didn't really need to
since it doesn't really apply in this situation
i know that stuff, its just that i sorta lost my train of thought and thought that it would matter here for no good reason
    sorry about that

Eh at 'least now that's out in the open for anyone not knowing the why's of the ordering mattering.

In this case tho, it matters, but not much, as T6 fire converts 37 % and T6 Thunder 28 %, meaning a total of 102 % assuming you go with 2 fire powders, so you have a 2 % room to wiggle whether you want to with 28 % Thunder-72 % % Fire or 26 % Thunder - 74 % Fire. So there ya go.
