Serious Being Short

I don't really mind being short, i can still reach most stuff and not banging your head as often is quite nice . However , society has made me hate being short. I don't think its a physical disadvantage in our modernized world but it sure is a social one. Although people probably don't mean to be offensive and probably just said this without thinking too much, I absolutely hate it when people ask me things like "You're so short" or "Why are you so short?" or "Do you wish you could be tall?" or "Why don't you do this or that to be tall" .

It probably never crosses a tall persons mind but i wake up everyday and look in the mirror and every single day i see the same short guy i wish i wasn't . You don't need to remind me I'm short. I've known I'm short my whole life and it brings me to tears thinking about it. I get sad every time i look at a photo with me in it and all my friends being relatively the same height then a sudden drop.

Why am i short? I ask myself the same fucking question and all i can say is "bad RNG i guess" . An answer I give myself comedically to try and escape the the heartbreaking injustice i feel in being given small stature . Maybe its genetic? My mother's quite short. Yet i cannot understand what i did to deserve this , i didn't rob , rape or kill anyone. Why does this have to happen to me ? How cruel of nature to curse me with something that is so socially unacceptable. What did i possibly do to deserve this? I don't know.

Do I wish i could be tall? Yes , very very much. Whenever i am given an opportunity to wish for something , there are only 2 things i ever wish for. Good grades and height.I got the good grades. But yet I close my eyes every night hoping that tomorrow i will wake up taller and i disappoint myself every morning. How i wish i could trade an A for height. At least i can study for Physics and Chemistry if I'm bad at it but there is no proven way to get taller. This brings me to my next point.

Why don't i do this or that to be tall? If i wake up everyday acknowledging that i am still short, do you think I've never tried to get taller? I've heard every mainstream way that people think will make you taller and let me tell you here , IT DOESNT FUCKING WORK. Why don't you just drink milk? I did for a whole year , nothing happened. Why don't i jump more? Guess what? Nothing happened, although I still jump in my free time because i get to see from a tall persons perspective for half a second. Why dont you play basketball? I did for 6 months , nothing happened. The reason that professional basketball players are tall is because being tall gives you an advantage in the game. Playing the sport doesn't magically make one tall. If it does , well fuck me cause I've been living my whole life wrong.

So yea , thats what i think about being short . I hope that my words make you think twice before judging one for being short . I wish that I become taller or my parents come in my room one day and tell me I'm actually 10 years old and they lied to me . But i know it won't happen . For now , I can only cry and be insecure. Its okay , I'll get over it , I always do. Until another fuck reminds me of my curse.

 

I feel ya. Being someone that's very fucking short, it really does suck. Majority blame goes to genetics, psssh and my mum tells me I don't drink enough milk even though she's short as well.

The only thing i have eaten for 80% of my life is rice, beans, and loads and loads of meat, and fish.(gotta love them paellas

For those of you who arent European, 201cm is roughly 6 foot 6 for you americans who use that stinky american system.

As a tall person I can give you good comebacks from about 95% of the people I live near
Life's filled with many doors and you're going to be banging your head on all of them
First to ripen, first to rot
Tall people die faster
At least my fist can reach your face
...

You know, I just realized that some of these comebacks that people have said to me are really mean o_o

 

...and here I am wishing I was shorter...

 

Ohhh boy, us tall people have the exact opposite problem. First, we always, and I mean ALWAYS get asked "why are you so tall?" By every. Single. Person. Seriously guys, I dont know why I am tall for my age, but no need to mention it. Bonus points if they ask you if you play basketball because of the stereotype that tall people play basketball (not entirely true).

Then we have dating people. You have to date people around your height, as dating someone smaller than you will be weird, especially how you have to bend down and kiss them everytime you want to kiss your boyfriend / girlfriend. Just mildly inconvenient (I kinda have that problem in real life).

We also have being too tall for some things you find enjoyable. Sure you can reach every ride since you pass the limit, but some things like playgrounds have a height limit that tall people easily passes. Man, how I wish I was smaller to fit in these little playgrounds. I dont care if I'm too old, I'm a kid by heart.

I got some major examples proving tall people also do not have it easy. I AM NOT DISAGREEING WITH YOU, I AM ONLY STATING US TALL PEOPLE HAVE PRBOLEMS, TOO

Wait till you hit puberty, then you will start growing fast.

I used to be short, and I honestly had no problem.

When I got a major growth spurt a few years ago, I wasn't exactly happy about not being able to fit into all the places I used to. Try to enjoy it.

This is why it's good to not give a **** about what people think of your physical characteristics.

 

Thats not entirely true... as i said above im 6'6 for you Americans, and my girlfriend is about 5'8, we get along perfectly fine, no inconveniences, and a lot of people think its cute actually...

Which is still somewhat average compared to most everyone else.

I know a guy whos really short.
He has trouble on some things, like the really tall water fountains and stuff.

Also when the school was remaking one of our buildings
They lowered the bathroom sinks by 3-4 inches.

Dunno, 5 foot something. few years ago I was really short for my age though...

 

5 foot 10 and still growing, doctors predict I will soon cap at 6 foot 3

Be yourself, don't bother with what other people think of you.

I got picked on and harassed for being taller then everyone in school.
People knew that even though i was the biggest kid there, that i wouldn't physically fight back.
It actually sucks as a teenager no matter who you are, so try to not let things bother you and enjoy life, you're fine just how you are.

Soon enough real life hits and you don't have the luxury of worrying about the stupid stuff that people think of you.
